Tenders for School-buildings, Painting, &c.
Education Department,
Wellington, 6th November, 1893.
TENDERS will be received at this office up to noon of the 30th November for the erection of a Native school and teacher’s residence at Te Pupuke, Whangaroa Harbour, and up to noon of the 10th December for works on the East Coast as follows: Te Araroa, Hicks Bay—building addition to school, and painting school and residence; Tokomaru, Tokomaru Bay—building school; Wharekahika, Hicks Bay—painting school and residence; Rangitukia, Port Awanui—painting school and residence.
Plans, &c., may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Public Works Office, Auckland; the Post-offices, Whangaroa and Kawakawa; the Resident Magistrates’ Offices, Napier and Gisborne; and the school, Tuparoa.
In the case of the East Coast schools tenders may be for the works as a whole or for any one or more of the works; but in any tender for more than one the price at which the tenderer is willing to undertake each separate work must be stated.
Telegraphic tenders will be accepted, provided the original tender and deposit are lodged at the same time at one of the Government offices above mentioned.

NOTICE.—It is hereby notified that, in pursuance of the provisions of section 8 of “The Public Trust Office Acts Amendment Act, 1893,” the Public Trustee, having elected to administer the property of the following persons, who, so far as is known, have died intestate within the Colony of New Zealand, did file his election in writing at the Supreme Court Office, at the place stated after the name of each such deceased person:—
Elizabeth Emma Borlase, late of Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington. Filed at Wellington on the 17th day of November, 1893.
John Garroway, late of Purakanui, in the Provincial District of Otago. Filed at Dunedin on the 18th day of November, 1893.

Notice by Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1892.”
In the matter of a parcel of land containing by admeasurement 11 acres 1 rood 33 perches, more or less, being Section 28, Block VII., North Harbour and Blueskin District, in the Provincial District of Otago, of which the grantees are Thomas Gaggs Weightman and Frederick Weightman, described as of Blueskin, Settlers, neither of whom can be discovered, nor is it known whether they are living or dead.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has been made aware of the above-described land having no known owner, and he, having made reasonable inquiry, can discover neither the owner nor any agent for the said land, nor any objection to the said land being declared subject to the above-named Act:
Now, this is to give notice to all whom it may concern that, unless on or before the 30th day of June, 1894, the owner of the above-described land establishes his title thereto to the satisfaction of the Supreme Court or any Judge of such Court, the Public Trustee will take the steps prescribed by “The Land Transfer Act, 1885,” to be registered as the owner of such land.

Land taken in Reserve 1213, Block IV., Opawa Survey District (Mackenzie County), for the Purposes of the Albury Branch of the Hurunui-Bluff Railway.
A NOTIFICATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Albury Branch of the Hurunui-Bluff Railway, to take land in Reserve 1213, Block IV., Opawa Survey District (Mackenzie County), in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on us by “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling us in that behalf, do hereby notify and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.
