Declaring that certain Fences constructed in Connection
with the North Island Main Trunk Line of Railway
from a Point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via
Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongarue River Valley,
Mangaonoho Section, shall be maintained at the Cost of
Her Majesty the Queen.
A NOTIFICATION.
WHEREAS certain fences have been constructed by the
Government of New Zealand along the Mangaonoho
section of the North Island Main Trunk line of railway: And
whereas the said portion of the above-mentioned railway has
become vested in the New Zealand Railway Commissioners,
and all the powers relating to the management, working,
and maintenance thereof have been conferred upon the said
Commissioners by virtue of "The Government Railways Act,
1887" (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"): And
whereas it is desirable that the fences so constructed shall
be maintained as hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authori-
ties conferred on us by the said Act and "The Public
Works Acts Amendment Act, 1887," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling us in that behalf, do
hereby declare that the fencing erected on behalf of Her
Majesty at both sides of the said portion of the said railway,
throughout the whole extent to which it passes through the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereunder, shall be here-
after wholly maintained at the cost of Her said Majesty
during such time as the said railway may continue to be
used by or on behalf of the Government of New Zealand, or
by us, the said Commissioners.

posited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the said provincial district.
Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force on the New Zealand Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The Government
Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and
charges on the New Zealand railways, to come into force on and after the 1st day of December, 1893:—
PART I.—PASSENGERS.

Tickets for these tours are issued subject to the conditions contained in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46, of the 28th
August, 1890.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government Rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 24th day of No-
vember, 1893.
PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
AUCKLAND SECTION.—CLASS K.
TIMBER to Auckland and Onehunga Wharf from Kanohi will
be charged as follows, per 100 superficial feet:—
From Kanohi to Auckland, 1s. 9d. From Kanohi to One-
hunga Wharf, 1s. 11d.
The rate to Onehunga Wharf is inclusive of wharfage.
White-pine timber, Whangarata to Newmarket or Auck-
land, will be charged 1s. 4d. per 100 superficial feet. Mini-
um quantity, 2,000 superficial feet per four-wheeled truck,
6,000 superficial feet per double-bogie truck.
Timber from Auckland to Tarukenga will be charged
3s. 10d. per 100 superficial feet.
Sulphur, Tarukenga to Westfield or Auckland, will be
charged as Class N.
The following local rates are hereby cancelled: Rate of
£4 10s. per ton for goods of Classes A, B, C, D, Auckland or
Newmarket to Oxford or Putaruru for Rotorua. Rate of
3s. 6d. per 100 superficial feet for timber from Auckland to
Oxford for Rotorua. Rate for sulphur, Oxford to Westfield
or Auckland.
