THE following notice, received from the Chairman of
the Clifton County Council, is published in ac-
cordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1886."

Result of a poll taken at Urenui, on Monday, the 13th day
of November, 1893, on a proposal to raise a loan of £2,000,
under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,"
for forming and metalling the following roads in the Mimi
Block, Mimi, Uruti, Moki, and Mangahia:—
Number on special roll, 13, capable of exercising 15 votes:
number who voted, 7, capable of exercising 8 votes; number
who did not vote, 6, capable of exercising 7 votes.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.—HUNTERVILLE TOWNSHIP
SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.

The following is the result of a poll taken on the 11th day
of November, 1893, on a proposal to raise a sum of £2,500
by way of loan, under the provisions of "The Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1886," and amendments thereto, for the follow-
ing purposes: Straightening Porewa Stream, £60; forma-
tion, metalling, culverting, and bridging Houpunui Road,
£10; Potaka Road, £150; Te Naire Road, £50; Wilson Road,
£60; Waitipapa Road, £40; Ongo Road, £370; Paraekaretu
Road North, £50; Paraekaretu Road South, £70; Marshall
Road, £210; Porewa Road, £360; Kutukutuku Road, £140;
Bruce Street, £480; Milne Street, £300; High Street, £150:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 126; number of votes exer-
cisable, 128: number of ratepayers who voted for the pro-
posal, 87; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 89;
number of votes recorded against the proposal, 1.
A majority of the ratepayers, exercising more than one-
half of the total number of votes exercisable, being in favour
of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.—RESULTS OF POLLS FOR PRO-
POSED LOANS.

Loan 36.—Mangatainoka Village Settlement.

The following is the result of a poll taken on the 11th Novem-
ber, 1893, on the proposal to borrow £140 for forming and
metalling the road commencing at Mangatainoka Bridge
and terminating one chain beyond Section 40, Block IV.,
Mangahao:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 5, representing 5 votes:
number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 3; num-
ber of votes recorded against the proposal, 2.
I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

Loan 37.—Middle Road, Pahiatua Village Settlement.

The following is the result of a poll taken on the 4th
November, 1893, on a proposal to raise a loan of £131, under
the provisions of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for re-forming and metalling Middle Road,
Pahiatua Village Settlement, from Carisbrook Road to Tori-
tea Road:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 12, representing 12 votes:
number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal,
10; votes not recorded, 2.
I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

Loan 38.—Woodville-Mangahao.

The following is the result of a poll taken on the 2nd
November, 1893, on a proposal to raise a loan of £1,000 for
forming and metalling on Road 43, from the north-west
corner of Section 108, Block VI., to junction of Road 42;
and on Road 42, from A. Gardner's gateway on Section 10,
Block X., to junction of road at corner of Section 3,
Block X., Waterfall Creek, Mangahao:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 18, representing 19 votes:
votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 11; not recorded, 8.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Special Orders (2) made by the Waimate Road Board,
County of Hawera.

THE following special orders, made by the Waimate Road
Board, are published in accordance with the provisions
of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.

That a special annual recurring rate of 3d. in the pound be
made for a period of twenty-six years, commencing from the
1st day of March, 1894, over the following properties—Sec-
tions 75, 77, 89, and 94, Block X., Kaupokonui Survey Dis-
trict; Sections 6, 18, and 19, Block XIV., Kaupokonui
Survey District—for the purpose of payment of interest and
other charges on the loan of £300 borrowed under "The
Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the pur-
pose of forming and graveling Mangawhero Road from the
Eltham Road to the south boundary of Section 89, Block X.,
Kaupokonui; thence, commencing 10 chains south of said
boundary, to the Railway Reserve, Block XIV., Kaupokonui.
The said special rate shall be payable (if required) half-
yearly in equal instalments on the 1st day of January and
the 1st day of July in each year of aforesaid period.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
adopted at a special meeting of the Waimate Road Board
on the 17th of October, 1893, and confirmed at a special
meeting on the 17th of November, 1893.
