These sections are in the Waimarino Farm-homestead Association Block, and are practically level, with good soil covered with heavy mixed forest. They are situated from within two to three miles of the Township of Raetihi, and distant from seventeen to eighteen miles from Pipiriki on the Wanganui River.

These sections are situated in the Maungakaretu Block, and have frontages to Hale’s Road, and slope towards the Wangaehu River. The access is by Fordell, from which there is a dray road to Mangamahu for seventeen miles, and from thence by Hale’s Road for fifteen miles and a half, which has been formed for dray-traffic most of the way, the balance being a horse-road only. The general character of the sections is undulating, with good slopes, well watered, and covered with the usual mixed forest.

As witness the hand of Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, as such Deputy as aforesaid, this tenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.
