STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of poll taken on the 30th day of October, 1893, upon
the proposal to borrow £2,000 under "The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," to (a) form, grade, bridge,
and metal the Beaconsfield Road from the East Road to the
northern boundary of East Riding; (b) form, grade, and
bridge the Ahuroa and Manawiwiri Roads from the Beacons-
field Road to Section 15, Block XV., Huiroa; (c) metal roads
in (b) as far as the balance of the loan-money enables:—
Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 15; total num-
ber of votes exercisable, 15; total number of ratepayers
voting in favour of the proposal, 11; total number of votes
recorded in favour of the proposal, 11; total number of
ratepayers voting against the proposal, 1; total number of
votes recorded against the proposal, 1.
I declare the proposal to be carried.

Special Order of Ashburton County Council, altering the
Boundaries of Ridings, approved by Governor.

THE following special order, passed by the Ashburton
County Council, and approved by His Excellency the
Governor, is published in accordance with the provisions of
"The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER.
Resolved, That this Council do make a special order altering
the Wakanui and the Upper Ashburton Ridings of the
County of Ashburton, and that such special order be as
follows, that is to say:—
Whereas by virtue of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and "The Road Boards Act
1882 Amendment Act, 1883," this Council has altered the
boundaries of the Wakanui Road District and the Upper
Ashburton Road District, whereby the Wakanui Riding and
the Upper Ashburton Riding of the County of Ashburton are
no longer in conformity with the provisions of section 12 of
"The Counties Act, 1886":
Now, the County Council of the County of Ashburton
doth hereby order that the said ridings shall be and the
same are hereby altered in manner following, that is to
say:
The Wakanui Riding shall consist of the Wakanui Road
District, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New
Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of July, 1893, and of the
Hampstead Town District:
The Upper Ashburton Riding shall consist of the Upper
Ashburton Road District, the boundaries whereof are de-
fined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th day of July,
1893.
I approve of the above special order.

County of Wairarapa North.

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville
Road Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.
That, to meet the interest and charges on the extra 10 per
cent. on Dorset's Bridge Loan, a special rate of 3d. in
the pound be made and levied on Section 11, Block V.,
Kopuaranga Survey District; the same to be levied and col-
lected in addition to the present special rate of 5d. in the
pound, and as if it were one rate. Said rate to be an
annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be
payable each year on the 2nd of January.
I hereby certify that the above special order was passed at
a meeting of the Mauriceville Road Board held on the 26th
of August, 1893, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 30th
of September, 1893.

Road Board, are published in accordance with the
provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDERS.
Resolved, That this Board make a special district by
special order, comprising Sections 23, 26, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37,
and 38, Block V., Arawaru Survey District, for the purpose
of raising a loan of £250, under "The Government Loans to
Local Bodies Act, 1886," to metal the Albert Road; and
that a special rate of 17d. in the pound is proposed to be
struck to meet interest on the said loan.
Proposed Saturday, 16th September, 1893; confirmed at
special meeting held 21st October, 1893.
Resolved, That this Board make a special district by
special order, comprising Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16,
17, part of 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, Block XII., and
Section 7, Block XVI., Mount Robinson Survey District, for
the purpose of raising a loan of £550, under "The Govern-
ment Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," to metal the
Kingston Road; and that a special rate of 12d. in the
pound is proposed to be struck to meet interest on the said
loan.
Proposed Saturday, 16th September, 1893; confirmed at
special meeting 21st October, 1893.
Resolved, That public notice be given that it is the inten-
tion of this Board to make a special district, to be called the
Muhunoa West Special District (for the purpose of striking
a special rate to pay interest on a loan of £500), the bound-
aries whereof shall be as follows: Commencing at the north-
east corner of Section 39, Ohau, where it joins the main road;
thence westerly along its northern boundary to Section 40;
thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 40 to
Section 41; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of
Sections 40, 47, 48, 56, 55, 63, 64, 71, 72, 73, and 74 to Rural
Section 2; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of
Section 2 to its boundary with the Waiwiri East Block;
thence easterly along the southern boundaries of the said
block and of Section 14, Horowhenua Block, to the Main
Road, to the north-east corner of Section 14; thence westerly
along the northern boundary of the said section to its north-
west corner; thence southerly along its western boundary to
its junction with the Waiwiri East Block; thence westerly
along the north boundary of the Waiwiri Block to the eastern
boundary of the part leased to Mr. Kebbell; thence southerly
to the Muhunoa Block, and continuing in the same direction
along the eastern boundary of the portion leased to Mr.
Kebbell in Muhunoa No. 3 Block to the Ohau River; thence
easterly along the said river to the Main Road; thence along
the Main Road to the starting-point at Section 39, Ohau.
Proposed Saturday, 19th August, 1893; confirmed at special
meeting 21st October, 1893.
Resolved, That public notice be given that it is the inten-
tion of this Board to make a special district, to be called the
Muhunoa East Special Loan District (for the purpose of
striking a special rate to pay interest on a loan of £1,000),
the boundaries whereof shall be as follows: Commencing at
the north-west corner of the 100-acre Native Reserve, where
it joins the Horowhenua Block; thence in a southerly direc-
tion along its western boundary to the road; thence along
the western boundary of Section 35 to the Ohau River;
thence following the Ohau River eastwards to the southern
boundary of Section 39; thence along the southern bound-
aries of Sections 39 and 41 to a point where Mr. Martin's
section of 300 acres, part of Ohau No. 3 Block, joins it;
thence south along the western boundaries of the said 300-
acre section to its south-west corner; thence eastwards along
its southern boundary to its junction with Section 54;
thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary
of that section and Section 56 to the boundary of the road
district; thence in an easterly direction along the southern
boundary of the district to the Forest Reserve; thence in a
northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections
61, 60, 55, and 53, to the Horowhenua Block; thence westerly
to the south-east corner of Section 6, Horowhenua Block;
thence along its south-eastern boundary; thence westerly
along its northern boundary to the Ohau River; thence
along the Ohau River to its southern boundary; thence
along the northern boundaries of Sections 38, 37, and Native
Reserve, to its starting-point.
Proposed on Saturday, the 19th August, 1893; confirmed
at special meeting 21st October, 1893.
