WHATAUPOKO ROAD DISTRICT.
At a poll of the ratepayers of a portion of this district, taken
on the 21st September, upon a joint proposal by the Waimata
and Whatauapoko Boards to raise a loan of £500 for the pur-
pose of constructing the Matokitoki Road, the following votes
were recorded:—

For the proposal, 1 ratepayer, exercising 1 vote.

As the whole number of ratepayers on the special roll voted
in favour of the proposal, I declare it carried within the Wha-
taupoko District.

Special Order made by the Hutt County Council, altering Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Hutt County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of "The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER.

WHEREAS it is expedient to alter the number of ridings of
the County of Hutt by increasing the same to eight, and that
each of the said ridings shall have the boundaries herein-
after mentioned, and to allocate to the said increased
number of ridings representation in the said Council as
hereinafter set forth: Now, it is hereby resolved,—

  1. That from and after the date of the gazetting of this
    resolution as a "special order" pursuant to the provisions
    of section 125 of "The Counties Act, 1886," the number of
    ridings of the said county shall be eight, which shall respec-
    tively have the names and boundaries following (that is to
    say):—

Whareroa Riding.—Commencing on the sea-coast at the
south-western corner of the County of Horowhenua; thence
southerly, following the sea-coast, to the north-western bound-
ary of the Tunepu Block; thence following the northern
boundaries of the said block and Section 48, Block III., Pai-
kakariki, and a line in continuation of the northern boundary
of the latter, to the south-western boundary of the Forest
Reserve; thence following the south-western, southern, and
eastern boundaries of the said reserve, and the south-eastern
boundaries of Sections 13 and 14, Block I., and Sections 1
and 2, Block II., Akatarawa, and part of the north-western
and north-eastern boundaries of Section 415, Block II., Aka-
tarawa, and the northern boundary of Section 1 and the
western boundaries of Sections 7 and 8, Block III., Akata-
rawa, and a line in continuation of the latter, to the southern
boundary of the County of Horowhenua; thence in a westerly
direction, following the said southern boundary, to the point
of commencement.

Horokiu Riding.—Commencing on the sea-coast at the
north-western boundary of the Tunepu Block; thence in a
southerly direction, following the sea-coast and the shores of
Porirua Harbour, to the northern boundary of Section 99,
Block VIII., Paikakariki; thence along the northern bound-
ary of the said section, and the north-western and western
boundaries of Section 30, and the northern boundaries
of Sections 32 and 35, Block II., Belmont, and Sec-
tions 37 and 39, and the eastern boundary of Section 39,
and the south-western and southern and eastern boundaries
of Section 352, and part of the southern boundary of Sec-
tion 69 and the southern boundaries of Sections 54, 73, 56, 57,
59, Block III., Belmont, and the southern and eastern bound-
aries of Section 17, and the eastern boundary of Section 16,
Block IV.; thence in a straight line to the south-eastern
corner of Section 63; thence following the eastern boundaries
of the said Section 63 and Section 65, Block IV., Belmont,
and a line in continuation thereof, to the southern boundary
of the Whareroa Riding; thence in a westerly direction, fol-
lowing the said boundary as previously described, to the
point of commencement.
