NOTICE is hereby given that the poll of ratepayers taken on the 12th instant resulted as follows:—

Number of voters on roll, 15; number of votes exercisable, 15; number of voters for proposal, 9; number of votes for proposal, 9.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESULT of poll taken on the 4th day of September, 1893, to borrow £2,000 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to (a) macadamise the Mountain Road, in the North Riding, between the Manganui Railway-station and the Waipuku River, and other parts required; (b) to renew the bridges on the same road throughout the riding:—

Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 265; total number of votes exercisable, 270; total number of ratepayers voting in favour of proposal, 91; total number of votes recorded, 91; total number of ratepayers voting against proposal, 5; total number of ratepayers voting informally, 4; total number of votes recorded against, 5; total number of votes informal, 4.

I declare the proposal to be lost.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.—SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT that portion of the Manganui Road District comprised in the Schedule hereto be annexed to the East Riding (an outlying district) of the County of Stratford as from and after the 29th August, 1893, on which day this order shall take effect.

Sections 105, 106, 107, and 82 of Block II., Ngaiere Survey District; Sections 14 and 15 of Block III., Ngaiere Survey District; Sections 38 and 40 of Block XIV., Huiroa Survey District; Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, of Block XV., Huiroa Survey District.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.—SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special rate of 1d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value of the following sections—viz., 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 71, 72, all in Block XVIII., Mangahao—for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund on a loan of £120, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for forming and metalling and constructing a bridge on Short Road, Pahiatua Village Settlement; such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum on the 1st day of October in each year.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council on 10th June, 1893, and confirmed on 12th August, 1893, in accordance with section 124 of “The Counties Act, 1886.”
