vernor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth hereby make the regulation hereto annexed regarding certain payments of capitation allowance to Education Boards; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby prescribe that this order shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATION.
NOTWITHSTANDING anything to the contrary contained in an Order in Council made on the 5th day of January, 1888, under the provisions of "The Education Act, 1877," relating (inter alia) to attendance registers and returns, the payment of capitation-allowance to Education Boards for the quarter ending on the 30th day of September now current shall be according to the working-average attendance of the last-preceding quarter, as working-average is defined by Order in Council dated the 5th day of July, 1887, and made under the provisions of the before-mentioned Act.

Validating Burgess Roll, Borough of Maori Hill.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of September, 1893.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the burgess roll of the Borough of Maori Hill for the year commencing the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, was completed after the time required by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," doth hereby declare that the burgess roll of the Borough of Maori Hill for the year commencing from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, so made as aforesaid, shall be as valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been made within the times required by the said Act.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The Animals Protection Act, 1880," and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the date hereof hares shall cease to be within the operation of the said Acts within the under-mentioned portion of the County of Hutt, that is to say,
Commencing at the Petone Railway-station; thence by a line at right angles bearing westerly to the top of the first ridge; thence by an irregular line bearing northerly, at a distance of ten chains from the western bank of the Hutt River, to the Mungaroa Saddle; thence by a line bearing easterly to the waterworks dam at Wainuiomata; thence by a line at right angles easterly to the summit of the range forming the eastern watershed of the Wainuiomata Stream; thence by the said range to the sea-coast; and by the sea-coast and Wellington Harbour to the Wellington-Hutt Railway; and thence by the said railway to the point of commencement.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.
