Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on us by "The Government Railways Act, 1887," and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling us in
that behalf, do hereby notify and declare that the lands
mentioned in the Schedule hereto are taken for the purposes
above mentioned.

Cancelling a Notification taking Additional Land in the
Papakairo Survey District for the Purposes of the Huru-
nui-Bluff Railway (Main Line).
A NOTIFICATION.
WHEREAS a notification, dated the 29th day of De-
cember, 1892, taking certain land in the Papakairo
Survey District for purposes of the Hurunui-Bluff Railway
(main line), under the powers and authorities conferred by
"The Government Railways Act, 1887," was published in
the New Zealand Gazette, No. 1, of the 5th day of January,
1893; and it is found that such notification incorrectly de-
scribes the land purporting to be taken: And whereas such
notification has not been registered by the District Land
Registrar, and it appears expedient to cancel the same:
Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities contained
in the above-mentioned Act, and "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1889," and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling us in that behalf, do hereby
cancel and annul the said recited notification dated the 29th
day of December aforesaid, as from the date hereof.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 21st day of
August, 1893:—
PART I.—PASSENGERS.
LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.—WESTPORT SECTION.
The present local fares and regulations on the Westport
Section are hereby cancelled.
Fares between stations on the Government railway (Wai-
mangaroa Junction excepted) and stations on the Waima-
ngaroa Branch-line will be charged 2d. on each single and
3d. on each return fare in addition to the through ordinary
fare.

Notice by Public Trustee under "The Unclaimed Lands
Act, 1892."
In the matter of a parcel of land in the City of Wellington,
being part of Section 374 on the plan of the said city—
bounded on the north by Section 375 on the said plan,
33ft.; on the east by other part of the same Section 374,
50ft.; on the west by other part of the same section, 50ft.;
and on the south by other part of the same section, 33ft.:
together with a right-of-way 3ft. wide extending from
Majoribank Street to the south-western corner of the said
parcel of land—of which the last known owner was Samuel
Young, a painter, now deceased.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has been made aware of
the above-described land having no known owner,
and he, having made reasonable inquiry, can discover neither
the owner nor any agent for the said land, nor any objection
to the said land being declared subject to the above-named
Act:
Now, this is to give notice to all whom it may concern
that, unless on or before the 30th day of April, 1894, the
owner of the above-described land establishes his title thereto
to the satisfaction of the Supreme Court or any Judge of
such Court, the Public Trustee will take the steps prescribed
by "The Land Transfer Act, 1885," to be registered as the
owner of such land.
Dated this 10th day of August, 1893.

ment 41 acres and 26 perches, more or less, situate in the
District of Lower Harbour West, fronting the sea-shore, and
being sections numbered 46, 47, 48, and 49 of Block I. on
the map of the said district, and of which the last
known owner was James Grafton, deceased.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has been made aware of
the above-described land having no known owner,
and he, having made reasonable inquiry, can discover neither
the owner nor any agent for the said land, nor any objection
to the said land being declared subject to the above-named
Act:
Now, this is to give notice to all whom it may concern
that, unless on or before the 30th day of April, 1894, the
owner of the above-described land establishes his title there-
to to the satisfaction of the Supreme Court or any Judge
of such Court, the Public Trustee will take the steps pre-

Road, and the last known owner was Lachlan Galbraith
Smith, deceased.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has been made aware of
the above-described land having no known owner,
and he, having made reasonable inquiry, can discover neither
the owner nor any agent for the said land, nor any objection
to the said land being declared subject to the above-named
Act:
Now, this is to give notice to all whom it may concern
that, unless on or before the 30th day of April, 1894, the
owner of the above-described land establishes his title thereto
