That, to secure the repayment of a further loan of £35 for the Ratapiko Road, a special rate of ½d. in the pound be made and levied over the following lands, viz.: Sections Nos. 23, 24, and 27, Block X., and Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 8, Block XI., Huiroa Survey District. Such rate to be an annual-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be payable, in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year.

SPECIAL ORDER.

WHEREAS the Hutt County is divided into six ridings, comprising, amongst others, the Karori Riding and the Horokiwi Riding: And whereas the number of Councillors at present assigned to and elected by the said ridings is as follows, that is to say: For the Karori Riding two Councillors, and for the Horokiwi Riding one Councillor: And whereas the Council of the said county deems it expedient to alter the number of Councillors to be assigned to and elected by the said ridings.

Now know all men by these presents that it was resolved by the Council of the said county, at a special meeting thereof duly convened and held on the 14th day of March, 1893, that from henceforth the number of Councillors to be assigned to and elected for the said ridings shall be as follows, that is to say: For the said Horokiwi Riding two Councillors, and for the said Karori Riding one Councillor, in lieu of the number of Councillors heretofore assigned to and elected for the said respective ridings.

And that, at a meeting of the said Council duly convened and held on this 12th day of April, 1893, for the purpose of confirming the said resolution, the same was confirmed.

In witness whereof the seal of the Council has been hereunto affixed, this 12th day of April, 1893.

SPECIAL ORDER.—SKEET ROAD LOAN.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimate Road Board did, at a special meeting held on Friday, the 17th February, make the following special order:—

That, to secure repayment of £650; and interest thereon, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of bridging Dunn’s Creek and Kaupokonui River on Skeet Road, a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound be made and levied over Skeet Road Special Rating District, comprising the following Sections, viz.: 22 and 31 to 40, Block XV., Kaupokonui Survey District, and 24 to 31 and 46 to 48, Block XIV., Kaupokonui Survey District (all inclusive). Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable, on the 1st January and 1st July in each year, at the Board’s office in Maniaia.

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Fitzherbert Road Board, at an ordinary Meeting held on Monday, the 20th Day of March, 1893.

THAT a special rate of twopence and one-thirtieth of a penny in the pound be made on the value of the following properties: Sections 322, 323, and 324, Block VI., Arawaru Survey District, Sections 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 312, 313, 325, 326, 327, and 328, Block VII., Arawaru Survey District, Sections 314, part 315, part 316, part 317, and part 318, Block VIII., Arawaru Survey District, and within the Fitzherbert Road District, for the purpose of providing interest and other annual charges on a loan of £900, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction of the portion of the Kahuterawa Road from the north-west boundary of Section 307, Block VII., Arawaru Survey District, to about 10 chains past the north-east corner of Section 317, Block VIII., Arawaru Survey District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable at the office of the Fitzherbert Road Board, in two instalments, viz., on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been duly made by the Fitzherbert Road Board, as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

FITZHERBERT ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of a poll taken at Mr. William Rowland’s residence, Turitea Road, Fitzherbert, on Wednesday, the 29th March, 1893, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £450, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the construction of two bridges over the Turitea Stream, in Ward No. 2 of the Fitzherbert Road District:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll 18, representing 36 votes; 11 ratepayers, representing 24 votes, voted in favour of the proposal; not any ratepayers voted against the proposal; and 7 ratepayers, representing 12 votes, were not recorded; majority of ratepayers in favour, 4; and majority of votes in favour, 12.

And I therefore declare the same to be carried.

WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.—RESULT OF POLL.

I, John Davies, Chairman of the above Board, hereby notify that the result of the poll taken at Shannon, on the 6th April, 1893, on the proposal to raise a £500 loan for the Ferry Road, was as follows:—

Ratepayers on special roll, 130; votes exercisable, 133; ratepayers voting in favour, 70; votes recorded in favour, 74; votes not recorded, 59; ratepayers not voting, 60; majority of ratepayers in favour, 10; majority of votes in favour, 7.

I therefore declare that the said proposal has been carried, according to the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”
