Extending Time for Preparation of Burgess Roll, Borough of City of Auckland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier's Residence, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of March, 1893.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," in connection with the making and revision of the burgess lists or rolls of the Borough of the City of Auckland cannot be done by or within the time required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the doing of the said things in connection with the burgess lists or rolls of the said Borough of the City of Auckland, and doth declare that the time for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

Burgess list to be made out: On or before the 8th May, 1893.

Burgess and defaulters' list open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto: Until the 23rd May, 1893.

Inspection of list of objections: From the 24th May, 1893, to the 31st May, 1893.

Sittings of Council to determine claims and objections: Between the 1st and 15th June, 1893.

Burgess roll to come into force: On the 1st July, 1893.

Amending Life-saving Appliances Rules.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier's Residence, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of March, 1893.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is, among other things, enacted by section one hundred and sixty-nine of "The Shipping and Seamen's Act, 1877" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), that every ship shall be provided with efficient boats, rafts, or other appliances for saving life, kept at all times fit and ready for use, and supplied with all requisites for use, sufficient in number, and of the size and description proper for such ship, according to rules which may be fixed by the Governor in Council:
And whereas it is provided by section three hundred and six of the said Act that the Governor may, by Order in Council, from time to time revoke, alter, or add to any order previously made under the said Act:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day of the same month, the rules set forth in the Schedule to the said order were made defining the boats, rafts, or other appliances for saving life with which ships are to be provided:
And whereas it is desirable to make the alterations in the said rules set forth in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the alterations, as set forth in the Schedule hereto, in the rules which were fixed and prescribed by the said Order in Council of the sixteenth day of September aforesaid, and doth hereby order that this order and the alterations hereby made shall come into force on and after the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
In table for Division A, Class I., the following provisions respecting the boats to be carried by vessels of a gross tonnage of 100 to 200 tons shall be substituted for the provisions heretofore in force:

In Division D, Class III., the discretionary power granted to the Minister having charge of the Marine Department to relieve steam-launches, steamers plying in narrow waters, and ferry-boats from the operation of the whole or part of Rule (a) of this class may be exercised by such Engineer-Surveyor as may from time to time be designated by the Minister for that purpose.

Regulations under "The Stamp Act, 1882."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier's Residence, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of March, 1893.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities in that behalf conferred upon him by "The Stamp Act, 1882," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth by this notice direct that on and after the sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, all fees and commissions which may be payable to any officer or officers of the Supreme Court, District Court, or Magistrate's Court lawfully exercising bankruptcy jurisdiction, whether under "The Bankruptcy Act, 1892," or any other Act, or under any rules for the time being in force thereunder respectively, and all fines and penalties which may be inflicted in and of the said Courts under or by virtue of the said Acts, shall be collected and paid by means of stamps of any kind issued by the Government of the said colony, except those issued under "The Beer Duty, Act, 1880."
And in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers and authorities, and by and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, the Governor doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes aforesaid:
- The stamps for the fees and commissions payable in respect of the several matters or proceedings specified in the first column hereunder written shall be impressed upon or affixed to the document specified opposite such matters or proceedings in the second column hereunder written, that is to say,

Commissions payable under Fourth and Fifth Schedules of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1892"
In a book to be provided for the purpose.
- In all other respects the regulations made by Order in Council issued under "The Stamp Act, 1882," and dated the eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and the Schedule thereto, so far as the same relate to matters in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, or District Court, shall, in so far as applicable, respectively apply to stamps used under these regulations, and matters and proceedings done and taken under "The Bankruptcy Act, 1892," or any other Act conferring bankruptcy jurisdiction upon any Court in the colony, or any rules for the time being in force thereunder respectively.
