Act, 1885," His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the following
regulation under and for the purpose of the said Act, that is
to say:—
Every District Land Registry Office shall be open to the
public for the purpose of searching the Register in such
office from 10 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. daily, except on Satur-
days, when the hours shall be from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
And it is hereby declared that this regulation shall come
into force on and after the sixth day of April next.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Canterbury, Westland, Otago, and Southland.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or par-
ticular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do
hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land
Districts of Taranaki, Hawke's Bay, Canterbury, Westland,
Otago, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified in
each case at the end of the description of the land so in-
tended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI.
All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 625 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 9, Block VII., and Section No. 16, Block XL.,
Mimi Survey District. Bounded on the north and north-east
by Sections Nos. 1 and 5 of Block VII. 8893·1 links, and by
Section No. 9 of Block XL. 9571·7 links; on the east by a
road, 1495 links; on the south-west by Section No. 2 of
Block XL., 10620·3 links; on the west by Section No. 4 of
Block VI., 7882·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth. For the
growth and preservation of timber.
All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 430 acres, more or less, being
Sections Nos. 14 and 15, Block XI., Mimi Survey District.
Bounded on the north and east by Section No. 10 and Crown
land, 9649·3 links; on the south and south-west by Crown
land and a road 2868·2 links, and by Crown land 5487·7 links;
on the west and north-west by Sections Nos. 13 and 12,
9665·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of
the Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth. For primary education.
HAWKE'S BAY.
All that parcel of land in the Hawkes Bay Land District,
containing by admeasurement 25 acres and 32 perches, more
or less, being Block III., Uawa Township. Bounded on the
north by Foster Street, 1800 links; on the east by Discovery
Street, 1400 links; on the south by Banks Street, 1800 links;
on the west by Cook Street, 1400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.
For a public recreation-ground.
WELLINGTON.
All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, known
as the Makakahi Island, Block VIII., Mangahao Survey
District. Bounded on all sides by the Mangaitainoka
River, by which it is separated on the south-east from Sec-
tion No. 16, same block and survey district: as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington. For a public recreation-ground.
All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less,
being Section No. 75 Block, I., Apiti Survey District.
Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 40; on the south-
east by a public road; on the west by a public road: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a public school site.

and 279, Town of South Rakaia. Bounded on the north-
east by Ferguson Street, 100 links; on the south-east by

by the Alford Forest Road, 150 links; on the north-west
