PORT OF HOBART
NOTICE is hereby given that the black buoy (referred to in Government Notice No. 107, 9th March, 1891) which had been placed in 5 fathoms of water, 73yds. from shore, to mark the edge of a bank that extends north-east from the south-east point of entrance to Sullivan's Cove, has been removed.
Marine Board of Hobart, 18th February, 1893.
BRISBANE RIVER.—ALTERATIONS IN DEPTHS OF DREDGED CHANNELS.
REFERRING to Notice No. 4, issued on the 9th instant, further notice is hereby given that, as a result of the last flood in the Brisbane River, additional changes have taken place in the dredged channels, the net depths at low-water springs being now as follow: Outer Bar, 8ft. 6in.; Inner Bar, 15ft.; Pelican Bank, 12ft.; Lytton Rocks, 13ft.; above Lytton, 15ft.; Eagle Farm Flats, 6ft.; Quarries Reach, 10ft.; Hamilton Reach, 7ft. 6in.
In the Outer Bar Cutting the shallowest water extends for a distance of about three cables, and for a half to three-quarters of a mile the depth is from 10ft. to 13ft. In the
Pelican Bank Cutting the shallowest water extends for a distance of about three cables, and in the Eagle Farm Flats Cutting for about a cable. The Quarries Cutting has silted up evenly, and in the Hamilton Reach there are a series of shallow ridges throughout the whole cutting. A detailed examination of all the cuttings is now being made, and, if deeper water is discovered outside the recognised channels, due notice will be given.

NOTICE is hereby given that, on and after the 1st proximo, the tide signals hitherto shown from the Pile Lighthouse, Brisbane River Bar, will be discontinued, and in lieu thereof the code in use at all other Queensland ports (as published in December last) will be adopted.
This change is in consequence of the diminished depth of water in the various cuttings, for which the original code does not provide.
