Lands set apart for Settlement.

GLASGOW, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the second section of "The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891"
(herein termed "the said Act"), it is, amongst other things,
enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall
be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary
that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
the blocks of land described in the Schedule hereto as set
apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.
WAIWERA Block.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
3,900 acres, more or less, and comprised in the following
sections: Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9, Block I.,
Tararua Survey District; Sections Nos. 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14,
15, 16, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, Block XIII., Mangahao Survey
District.
KAKARIKI Block.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
5,000 acres, more or less, and comprised in the following
sections: Sections Nos. 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21,
Block I., Mangaone Survey District; Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3,
4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, Block IV., Tararua
Survey District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Auckland, this
twenty-eighth day of March, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads through the Huiakama
Block, Land District of Taranaki.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under
the authority of "The Native Land Court Act, 1886," and
its amendments, that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the
Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated the 31st
July, 1891.
SCHEDULE.
ALL those parcels of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement in the aggregate 130 acres and
2 roods, more or less, situate in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being road-lines, of a width of 100 links and upwards, traversing portion of the Huiakama Block, namely:—
A strip of land known as East Road, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 2 roods, more or less, situate in the
Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a width of
100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the Huiakama
Block, the south-eastern side of which commences at a point
2269·9 links from the south-west corner of the said Huiakama
Block; and thence continues north-easterly and easterly
generally for a distance of 16241·6 links to the opposite
angle-peg of peg No. LXI. on traverse of aforesaid road: as
the same is delineated on Map No. 197.
A strip of land known as East Road, containing by admeasurement 29 acres and 31 perches, more or less, situate
in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a
width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the
Huiakama Block, the south-eastern side of which commences
at the opposite angle-peg of peg No. LXI. on traverse of road
above referred to; and thence continues north-easterly and
easterly generally for a distance of 23882·8 links to the opposite angle-peg of peg No. CXXXVIII. on traverse of aforesaid road: as the same is delineated on Map No. 40A.
A strip of land known as East Road, containing by admeasurement 25 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, situate
in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a
width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the
Huiakama Block, the centre line of which commences at
peg No. CXXXVIII. on traverse of road above referred to; and
thence continues north-easterly and easterly generally for a
distance of 20348 links to peg No. CCXVII. on traverse of
aforesaid road: as the sams is delineated on Map No. 40B.
A strip of land known as East Road, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, situate
in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a
width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the
Huiakama Block, the centre line of which commences at peg
No. CCXVII. on traverse of road above referred to; and thence
continues north-easterly generally for a distance of 8836·7
links, forming for a part of the said distance the south-eastern side of the said road to peg No. L. on traverse of aforesaid road: as the same is delineated on Map No. 40c.
A strip of land known as East Road, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less, situate
in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a
width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the
Huiakama Block, the east side of which commences at peg
No. L. on traverse of road above referred to; and thence continues northerly generally for a distance of 6813·7 links to
peg No. LXIV. on traverse of aforesaid road and on southern
boundary-line of Mangaotuku Block: as the same is delineated on Map No. 199.
A strip of land known as Makuri Road, containing by admeasurement 17 acres and 32 perches, more or less, situate
in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road, of a
width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of the
Huiakama Block, the south-eastern side of which commences
at peg No. LXXV. on traverse of aforesaid road; and thence
continues north-easterly generally for a distance of 16373·7
links to peg No. XLIX. on traverse of aforesaid road at its
junction with a subdivision-line of the said Huiakama Block:
as the same is delineated on Map No. 198A.
A strip of land known as Makuri Road, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less,
situate in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road,
of a width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of
the Huiakama Block, the eastern side of which commences
at peg No. XLIX. on traverse of aforesaid road at its junction
with a subdivision-line of the said block; and thence continues northerly generally for a distance of 13703·7 links to
Mangaere Block: as the same is delineated on Map No. 198B.
A strip of land known as Douglas Road, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 11 perches, more or less,
situate in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road,
of a width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion of
the Huiakama Block, the eastern side of which commences
at a point 2269·9 links from the south-west corner of the
said Huiakama Block; and thence continues northerly
generally for a distance of 3967·1 links to its junction with
the confiscation-line: as the same is delineated on Map
No. 196.
A strip of land known as Toko Road, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less,
situate in the Ngatimaru Survey District, and being a road,
of a width of 100 links and upwards, traversing a portion
of the Huiakama Block, the centre line of which commences
at peg No. CXLVII. on traverse of road above referred to, at
its intersection with the southern boundary of Huiakama
Block, and 5030 links east of Oruru Trig. Station; and thence
continues northerly generally, for a distance of 6518·3 links,
to peg No. CLXII. on traverse of aforesaid road: as the same
is delineated on Map No. 39F.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the said
parcels of land are delineated on the aforesaid Maps Nos.
197, 40A, 40B, 40c, 199, 198A, 198B, 196, and 39F, deposited
in the District Land and Survey Office, New Plymouth, and
thereon coloured pink.

£100, and also to be a Warden for the Otago Mining District.
