Nos. 18, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, Block II., Waikawa Survey District, and by Waikawa Township Reserve; and towards the south generally by a line one mile distant from and parallel to high-water mark of the ocean.

WAIKAWA BLOCK.

All that area in the Southland Land District, situated in the Waikawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement 6,000 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the west by Sections Nos. 12, 9, and 6, Block VII., and Sections Nos. 8 and 7, Block V., Waikawa Survey District; towards the north and north-east generally by Sections Nos. 6 and 7, Block VI., of said district, and by a line parallel to and one mile distant from the Waikawa-Catlin's Road; towards the east by the eastern boundary of the Waikawa Survey District; and towards the south-west generally by a line parallel to and one mile distant from the Waikawa-Catlin's Road, and by a village homestead of 500 acres: excepting from the above-described area a village homestead of 300 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Auckland, this twenty-eighth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891" (herein termed "the said Act"), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.

OPUAWHANGA No. 1 BLOCK.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks II., IV., and V., Opuawhanga Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 5,000 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 4 of Block I., Opuawhanga Survey District, and by Sections Nos. 8, 10, and 9 of Block II. of the same district; towards the north-east generally by a public road, by the Wai-o-te-Reria Stream and Te Ruatahi Block; towards the south-east generally by Section No. 3 of Block V., and by the Te Wairahi Block; towards the south generally by a forest reserve and by Sections Nos. 13, 6, 9, 10, and 16 of Block IV., Opuawhanga Survey District aforesaid; towards the west by a right line running parallel to and at a distance of 125 chains in a westerly direction from the eastern boundary of Block IV. aforesaid; towards the north by part of the southern boundary of Block I.; and again towards the west generally by part of the eastern boundary of Block I. aforesaid, and by the Owai Block.

Bounded towards the north-west generally by a right line from the north-east corner of Section No. 1, Block V., Waiau Survey District, to the Kirikiri Road at peg marked x.; thence by the said road to peg marked cxxx.; and thence by a right line in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 150 chains; towards the north-east and east by a right line, 57 chains long, to the south-west corner of Section No. 1, Block I., Waiau Survey District, by a due south line to and across a road-line, by that road-line, by a timber reserve, and by Block IX., all of Waiau Survey District; and towards the south by Blocks VII., VI., and V., Waiau Survey District: be all the aforesaid distances more or less.

Also all that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 130 acres, more or less, and being Section No. 4, Block III., Waiua Survey District.

Bounded towards the north by the Oxford Special-settlement Block; towards the east and south generally by a road and the Huiakama Block; and towards the west by Sections Nos. 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Block XIII., and Section No. 1 of Block IX., Ngatimaru Survey District, and by a road to the Oxford Special-settlement Block first mentioned.
