West Eyreton Riding: For the scheme 46 votes, repre-
senting £114,468 in value; against the scheme 4 votes, repre-
senting £8,720 in value; unrecorded votes 24, representing
£66,462 in value.

Cust Riding: For the scheme 57 votes, representing
£45,931 in value; against the scheme 4 votes, representing
£2,796 in value; unrecorded votes 48, representing £23,441
in value.

Eyreton Riding: For the scheme 29 votes, representing
£36,848 in value; against the scheme 4 votes, representing
£3,878 in value; unrecorded votes 33, representing £43,894
in value.

Mandeville and Rangiora Riding: For the scheme 69 votes,
representing £92,145 in value; against the scheme 1 vote,
representing £2,026 in value; unrecorded votes 25, repre-
senting £48,451 in value.

Summary of voting: For the scheme 349 votes, repre-
senting £449,820 in value; against the scheme 20 votes, repre-
senting £33,350 in value; informal votes 3, representing
£1,130 in value; unrecorded votes 240, representing £252,057
in value.

As the number of ratepayers voting in favour of the scheme
exceeds half the total number on the roll, and the number
so voting represents more than three-fifths of the total rate-
able value of the district, I hereby declare the proposal
carried.

I, John Dobson, of Rangiora, farmer, Chairman of the Wai-
makariri-Ashley Water-supply Board, do solemnly and sin-
cerely declare that all proceedings required by "The Water-
supply Act, 1891," "The Counties Act, 1886," and amend-
ments thereto, and "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," and the amendments thereto, to be taken in or
towards obtaining the sanction of the ratepayers to the pro-
posal to raise a special loan of £31,000 for the purpose of the
construction of head-works leading from the Waimakariri
River at Rock Ford to a point on the terrace about one
hundred and twenty chains to east of the Waimakariri Gorge
Bridge, and distributary channels leading therefrom, sufficient
to supply water to the whole district, have been duly taken,
and that the resolution in favour of the proposal has been
duly carried.

THAT a special rate of 1d. in the pound be made and levied on
the rateable value of the following sections: Part of Section
No. 84, Sections Nos. 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61,
Block VII., Mangahao; Sections Nos. 75, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94,
95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 107, 108, 109,
110, 111, 1, 2, 3, Block VI., Mangahao; Sections Nos. 4, 5,
Block V., Sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, Block IX., Mangahao, for
the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund on a loan
of £1,000, to be borrowed by this Council, under the provi-
sions of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,"
for certain road-works in the Mangahao specified in loan-pro-
posal; such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-
six years, and to be payable in one sum on the 1st day of
October in each year.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
adopted, at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Coun-
cil, on the 14th January, 1893, and confirmed on the 22nd
February, 1893, in accordance with section 124 of "The
Counties Act, 1886."

on a loan of £200, to be borrowed by this Council, under
the provisions of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for forming and metalling road in the Pahiatua
West Village Settlement to Mangahao Road; such rate to be
an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be
payable in one sum on the 1st day of October in each
year.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
adopted, at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Coun-
cil, on the 14th January, 1893, and confirmed on the 22nd
February, 1893, in accordance with section 124 of "The
Counties Act, 1886."

Any person who shall drive any vehicle or ride any horse at
other than a walking-pace over or upon the Tamaki Bridge
shall for every such offence forfeit and pay upon conviction
a penalty not exceeding £5.

construction of a dray-traffic road from Wainuioru, near
Cooper's Taipos Station to the East Coast, near Glenburn,
this Board now strike a special rate, annually recurring for
twenty-six years, at 2/10½d. in the pound, payable in half-
yearly instalments on the 1st days of December and June in
