MANGA-ATUA SECTION.

Commencing at a point situated in railway land originally forming part of the Native Reserve No. 200, in Block VIII., Woodville Survey District, the said point being also the point of commencement of a portion of the Awa-purua Section of the railway from Wellington to Napier, as described in a Proclamation dated the 23rd March, 1888, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 20, of the 29th March, 1888; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 2 miles 25 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, viz., Woodville Survey District, Block VIII., Native Reserve No. 200; Block IV., Sections 70, 71, 72, 75, and railway land; and terminating in the said railway land at a point on the prolongation in a southerly direction, for a distance of about 2 chains, of the north-western boundary of Section No. 73, which said point of termination is also a point on the Woodville Section of the line of railway from Wellington to Napier, as described in a Proclamation dated the 10th December, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 71, of the 17th December, 1885: including all intervening and adjoining places, lands, roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and watercourses; all in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay; in the manner delineated by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 16920, a copy of which has been deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Declaring Part of Waikanae-Hutt Road to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of March, 1893.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the road known as the Waikanae-Hutt Road, described in the Schedule below, and which was made by the Governor under the powers contained in the said Act, and has hitherto been a Government road, shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District situated in Blocks IX. and X., Kaitawa Survey District, County of Horowhenua, being a road, 100 links wide and upwards, lying between the Waikanae Railway-station and the crossing of the Waikanae River, containing 21 acres or thereabouts, the centre line of which commences at a point 29946·1 links north and 40505·1 links west of Kapakapanui Trig. Station, and nearly opposite the Waikanae Railway-station; and proceeds thence generally in a south and easterly direction for a distance of 209 chains 25 links, more or less, to a point on the western bank of the Waikanae River 16128·3 links north and 39731·3 links west of Kapakapanui Trig. Station; passing through Subdivisions 41 and 23 of Ngarara West C Block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 14820, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon marked in brown.

Appointing Trustees under Maori Real Estate Management Acts, 1867 and 1877.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of March, 1893.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said Act"), it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris who or any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, if he think fit, to order that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or interest therein, as shall to the Governor in Council be shown to belong to such infant or lunatic or other person under legal disability shall be vested in Trustees, as the Governor in Council shall think fit:

And whereas by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act Amendment Act, 1877," it is provided that, in all cases in which no Trustee of such estate of any infant Maori prior to the passing of the said last-recited Act has been appointed, the Governor may appoint such Trustee only on the recommendation of a Judge of the Native Land Court:

And whereas, in pursuance of orders bearing dates as contained in the first column of the Schedule hereto, made by the Judge named in the second column thereof, the persons named in the third column were recommended to the Governor as Trustees under the said Acts on behalf of the persons named and under the disability described in the fourth column, in respect of the lands described or referred to in the fifth column:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Acts, doth hereby order that the interests and shares of the persons under disability named in the Schedule hereto in the block of land referred to therein shall be and remain vested in the several persons named in the third column thereof as Trustees within the meaning and for the purposes of the said Acts for the said persons respectively during the term or terms of their minority or other disability; the said parcel of land having the area and boundaries set forth in the instrument of title affecting the same, and in the record maps in the office of the Surveyor-General.
