THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves
mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested, in
trust, for metal reserves, for the use of the inhabitants of
the Akaroa County, and under the control and management
of the County Council of the Akaroa County.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 17 acres 2 roods 22 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 1036, Block XV., Pigeon Bay
Survey District. Bounded on the northward by Section No.
12339, a road-line, and Section No. 33635, 1824·6 links; on
the eastward by Section No. 33635 and a road-line; on the
southward by Section No. 34248, a road-line, and Crown
land; and on the westward by Section No. 10229 and a
road-line: save and except a road, 100 links wide, which
intersects the area hereby described; be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 1386, Block XV., Pigeon Bay Survey District.
Bounded on the north-west by Section No. 19686, 1000 links;
on the north-east by Section No. 13735, 904 links; on the
south-east by a stream and a road-line; and on the south-
west by Section No. 19686, 1118·4 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier's residence, at Wellington, this twentieth
day of October, 1892.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of "The Public Works
Act, 1882," it is enacted that, if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
that Act, or any other Act or provincial ordinance, or other-
wise however, for public works, is not required for public use,
the Governor may, by an Order in Council, publicly notified
and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions
therein set forth: And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto has been acquired for a public work within
the meaning of the said Act, namely, for the purpose of a
road deviation; and the Minister of Lands has laid before
the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, in terms
of the said Act, praying the Governor, by an Order in
Council, to cause such land to be sold:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities afore-
said, do hereby order and authorise the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in the manner and
subject to the conditions in the fourteenth and following
sections of the above in part recited Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood 1 perch, more
or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 15 and 16, Huirangi
District, Paritutu Survey District. Bounded on the north-
west by the Lepper Road deviation; on the east by the
Lepper Road; and on the south-west and west by the
Lepper Road deviation: as the same is delineated on plan
marked S.G. 17414, a copy of which is deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in
the Land District of Wellington, and thereon bordered
green.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby
order and declare that the reserve made for public recrea-
tion in the Land District of Auckland, and known as the
Whangateau Recreation-ground, and described in the Sche-
dule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under
the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions
of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and such domain shall
hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in
manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Section No. 156A of the Parish of Omaha, and con-
taining by admeasurement 15 acres and 20 perches, more or
less. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road,
479, 136, and 603 links; towards the east by Section No. 156c
of the Parish of Omaha, 1069 links; towards the south by
Whangateau Harbour; towards the south-west by Section No.
156B of the Parish of Omaha, 500 links; towards the north-
west and again towards the south-west by Section No. 156D
of the Parish of Omaha, 200 and 250 links respectively;
and again towards the north-west by a public road, 942 links,
to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier's residence, at Wellington, this twentieth
day of October, 1892.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto, situate in the Land
District of Auckland, and containing fifteen acres and twenty
perches, more or less, is declared to be brought under the
operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said
"Public Domains Act, 1881:"
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony
of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the
powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except
the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve
thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known
as the Whangateau Domain Board, namely,—
WILLIAM GREENWOOD,
WILLIAM TORTINGTON,
GEORGE HENRY SADLER,
JOHN BAWDAN BIRDSALL, and
AUGUSTUS HEBER MEIKLEJOHN
(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business
on the third Saturday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m.,
at Omaha, or at such other time or place as may from time
to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be
held on Saturday, the tenth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-two. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. -
Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third
Saturday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
