Pelorus Recreation-grounds brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserves made for public recreation in the Land District of Marlborough, known as the Pelorus Recreation-grounds, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same are hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Marlborough, situate in the District of Upper Pelorus Valley, being Section No. 25 on the plan of the said district, containing by admeasurement 13 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by a public road 1 chain wide; towards the east by a public road along the right bank of the Rai River; towards the south by a public road 1 chain wide along the left bank of the Pelorus River; and towards the south-west, 1110 links, by Section No. 26 on the said plan.
Also all that island in the Pelorus River known as Te Hau Island, being Section No. 66, Pelorus Valley, Wakamarina District, Land District of Marlborough, and estimated to contain about 9 acres, more or less.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier’s residence, at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, 1892.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the lands described in the Schedule thereto are declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to
The PELORUS ROAD BOARD,
which shall be known as the Pelorus Domain Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the Road Board Offices, Havelock, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the fifth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Premier’s residence, at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, 1892.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Karipa te Whetu, the Native owner of the lands described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such lands contained in the Crown grant, bearing date the second day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said lands are hereby removed.
