required for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith or incidental or conducive thereto, and which lands shall from time to time be set apart and defined by Proclamation to be issued in that behalf; but no more than ten thousand acres shall be so set apart or proclaimed in one block at any one time, and the lands so set apart and proclaimed from time to time shall not, in the aggregate, exceed seven hundred and fifty thousand acres: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the lands described in the Schedule hereto, are required for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith, and the said lands are comprised in one block, containing five thousand six hundred acres: And whereas it is expedient the said land should be set apart and defined by this Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf under the hereinbefore-mentioned contract or otherwise, do hereby proclaim and declare that the block of land defined and described in the Schedule hereto is set apart under the provisions of the said contract for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith.
SCHEDULE.
BLOCK VI.: All that area in the Nelson Land District, situated in Brighton Survey District, containing 5,600 acres, more or less. Bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Block II., and proceeding westerly along the northern boundary-line of the said Brighton Survey District to the sea-coast; thence southerly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Porarari River; and thence along a right line to the point of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold and leasehold sections and reserves.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley, namely, the Mangaonoho Section and part of the Makohine Section:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purpose hereinafter specified have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in Otamatea County:
And whereas the Otamatea County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by maps, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said roads.
