A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891”
(herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things,
enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall
be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary
that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the
purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set
apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.

LILLBURN, MONOWAI, AND ALTON BLOCK.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 4,659 acres, more or less, situated in
Lillburn and Alton Survey Districts. Bounded towards the
east and south-east by the Waiau River; towards the south
and west generally by Crown lands; and towards the north-
west generally by Section No. 2, Block I., Lillburn Survey
District, and by Clifden Township.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, contain-
ing by admeasurement 26,086 acres, more or less, situated in
Monowai and Lillburn Survey Districts. Bounded towards the
east generally by the Waiau River; towards the south
by Sections Nos. 5 and 4, Lillburn Survey District, to the
Lillburn; again towards the north-east by that stream
and by the Waiau River; towards the south-east and again
towards the north-east by Section No. 1 of Block I.; and
towards the south-west and north-west generally by Crown
lands and by Section No. 6 and P.R.A., and again by Crown
lands to the Waiau River.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of Oc-
tober, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-two.

Vesting an Athenæum Site in the Bannockburn Public
Library and Athenæum (Incorporated).

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of October, 1892.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a site for an athenæum: And
whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to
vest the said land in the Bannockburn Public Library and
Athenæum (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the Bannockburn Public
Library and Athenæum (Incorporated), in trust, for a site
for a public library and athenæum.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, situate
in the Town of Bannockburn, and being Sections Nos.
4 and 5 respectively of Block VI. of said town. Bounded
towards the north by Section No. 3 of same block, 250 links;
towards the east by King Street, 100 links; towards the
south by Section No. 6 of same block, 250 links; and towards
the west by Duke Street, 100 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.

Also all that parcel of land in the Township of Bannock-
burn, in the Land District of Otago, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, being Sections
Nos. 6 and 7, Block VI. Bounded towards the north by
Section No. 5; towards the east by King Street; towards
the south by Terrace Street; and towards the west by Duke
Street: as the same is delineated on the map deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin.

Constituting Districts under “The Factories Act, 1891.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of October, 1892.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by “The Factories Act, 1891” (hereinafter
termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time divide New Zealand, or
any portion thereof, into such districts as he shall think fit,
and notice of the constitution of every such district shall be
given in the Gazette as occasion requires:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, do
hereby divide the portions of the said colony enumerated in
the Schedule hereto into districts for the purposes of the said
Act, the descriptions and boundaries whereof shall be those
set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare
that for the purposes of the said Act each of such districts
shall be known by the name set over the description of each
such district respectively.

CLINTON FACTORY DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north and north-east generally by a
road-line bounding Sections Nos. 49, 50, and 51, Block III.,
Waiparee Survey District, bounding Sections Nos. 18, 17, 16,
2 of 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, and 10, Block XI., Pomahaka Survey
District, bounding Sections Nos. 51 and 50, Block X., bound-
ing Sections Nos. 3, 4, 18, 1 of 26, 2 of 26, 27, 2 of 37, and
1 of 37, Block VIII., and by a stream passing through said
Section No. 1 of 37 and Sections Nos. 50, 51, 52, 53, 33,
and 32 of Block VIII. to the Kuriwao Stream; towards the
south-east generally by the Waiwera Stream; towards the
south and south-west generally by Run No. 24A, Section
No. 11, Block IV., Kuriwao Survey District, a road bounding
said Section No. 11, Sections Nos. 12, 24, 21, 20, 5, and 4,
all of said Block IV., across the Kuriwao Stream, and by a
road bounding Sections Nos. 4, 7, 8, 11, 15, and 18, Block XV.,
Waiparee Survey District; and towards the north-west
generally by a road bounding Sections Nos. 19 and 20, and
passing through Sections Nos. 21 and 17 of said Block XV.,
by said Section No. 17, and by Sections Nos. 20 and 9,
Block IV., by a road bounding Sections Nos. 9, 10, and 12
of said Block IV., and Sections Nos. 7, 5, 4, and 55 of Block
III., Waiparee Survey District.

TAPANUI FACTORY DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-west and north by the Flodden
Creek and by a road-line passing through Section No. 16,
Block IV., Glenkenich Survey District, and bounding Sec-
tions Nos. 17 and 18 of Block IV., Sections Nos. 1 and 2,
Block IX., Rankleburn Survey District, and passing through
Section No. 5 of said block to the south-eastern boundary-
line of said Section No. 5; towards the east and south-east
generally by a right line to Trig. H, a right line thence to
Trig. K, a right line thence to Trig. U, a right line thence to
the northern corner of Section No. I, Block XI., Rankle-
burn Survey District, and by a road bounding said Section
No. 1 and Section No. 74, Block XI., Glenkenich Survey
District; towards the south by a road bounding Sections
Nos. 73, 67, 45, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 12, all of said Block XI.,
to the Pomahaka River; and towards the west by that
river.

MATAURA FACTORY DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north-west generally by the road-
line bounding Sections Nos. 56, 55, 54, 50, 45, 38, 37, and 36,
Block V., Lindhurst Survey District, intersecting Sections
Nos. 3 and 2, Block VIII., by a road-line bounding said
Sections Nos. 2 and 3 and Section No. 2 to the Hedgehope
Stream, by that stream, by a road-line proceeding from the
