Removal of certain Words from Pamphlet relative to the Entry of Boys of Australasian Birth into Royal Navy.

A DESPATCH has been received from the Admiralty notifying that the words “allotting or,” in the first line of the paragraph in above pamphlet, relating to the transmission of money to relations and friends, has been cancelled. The pamphlet was published in New Zealand Gazette No. 52, of the 30th June, 1892.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Napier.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Napier, is published in accordance with “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

POLL FOR SPECIAL LOAN, £35,000.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of the burgesses of the Borough of Napier, taken on Tuesday, the 6th day of September, 1892, for the purpose of obtaining the necessary authority for raising a special loan of £35,000 for the construction of permanent works and improvements, the following votes were recorded:—

For, 382 voters, 828 votes; against, 11 voters, 13 votes; informal, 4 voters, 7 votes.

I therefore publicly declare that the proposal to borrow a sum of £35,000—for the construction of esplanade protection, £12,000; road to breakwater, £7,000; and water-works extension, drainage, permanent levels, &c., £16,000—upon the security of a special rate of 6d. in the pound upon all the rateable property in the Borough of Napier, was duly carried.

I, Maurice Norman Bower, of Napier, Town Clerk, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all the proceedings required to be taken under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” for the purpose of obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to the proposal to raise a loan of £35,000, for constructing esplanade protection-works, water-works extension, road to breakwater, drainage, and permanent levels, have been duly taken, and that the resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Vincent.

I HEREBY give notice of the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Blackman Water-race District, taken on Monday, the 29th August, 1892, upon a proposal to borrow £400, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of purchasing the water-race known as John Kane Race, and of all water-rights appertaining to said race:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 8; number of votes capable of being recorded, 8; number of ratepayers who recorded votes in favour of proposal, 7; number of votes recorded for proposal, 7; number of ratepayers recording votes against proposal, nil.

I hereby declare the above proposal to be carried.

THE following two special orders were made at a special meeting of the Patea West Road Board, held at Kakaramea, on the 5th day of August, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 9th day of September, 1892:—

  1. Special Order constituting the Alton Special Rating District.

Resolved, That the following special order, made at last meeting, constituting the Alton Special Rating District, be now confirmed:—

That this Board, finding it necessary to execute particular works for the special benefit of a portion of the Patea West Road District, it is ordered that the sections particularised in the Schedule hereunder be formed into a special rating district for the purpose, to be known as the Alton Special Rating District.
