Rural Land in the Hawke's Bay Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Cook and Wairoa Counties.—Nuhaka North District.

Bounded towards the north and east by Crown land and the Maraetaha and Nuhaka Roads; towards the south by Crown lands opened for selection on the 18th June, 1890; and towards the west by the Tutaematuatua Stream, the Nuhaka No. 2 Block to peg xii. on the range, and then along the range to Trig. Station A.

Light pumice soil, part undulating and part broken country. The land is covered with mixed timber, consisting of rimu, rata, tawa, hinau, and matai, and is well watered by several small streams and the Nuhaka River running through the block. The elevation of the land ranges from about 1,000ft. to 2,000ft. above sea-level, and the country though hilly is well adapted for pastoral purposes. It is accessible either from Gisborne, distant about thirty-three miles, or from the Nuhaka Pa, about ten miles.

IN exercise and pursuance of the power and authorities vested in me by the ninth section of “The Land Acts Amendment Act, 1888,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

THOMAS HUMPHRIES, Esquire, Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Hawke’s Bay,

RECHAB HARDING, Esquire, and

THOMAS HALLETT, Esquire,

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay known as runs numbers one and two, Mangahapai and Waitara Survey Districts, as provided by section nine of “The Land Acts Amendment Act, 1888,” aforesaid.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twentieth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a Trustee to provide for the maintenance and care of the Hororata Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the thirtieth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.
