Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of August, 1892.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Aperahama Tahunuiarangi and twenty-
one others, comprising a majority in number of the Native
owners of the land described in the second column of the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the aliena-
tion of such land contained in the memorial of ownership,
bearing date the eighteenth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine, described in the first column
of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas in-
quiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and
the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law
in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it
appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said memorial of ownership on
the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

FIRST COLUMN.
Particulars of Grant or Instru-
ment containing Restrictions.

Memorial, Vol. 2, No. 62,
dated 18th February, 1879,
under "The Native Lands
Act, 1873," in favour of Hunia
te Iki and twenty others,
and containing the following
restrictions: "The above-
named owners under this
memorial may not sell or
make any other disposition of
the said land, except that
they may lease for any time
not exceeding twenty-one
years in possession and not in
reversion, without fine, pre-
mium, or foregift, and without
agreement or covenant for re-
newal or for purchase at a
future time." The block is
also made "inalienable" by
order of Native Land Court.

day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may
be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by
the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported
that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been com-
plied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such
application:

Rural Lands in the Marlborough Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), I, David, Earl of Glaseow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the
New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated
in the said Schedule.
