"The Mining Act, 1891," declared to be in Operation over Reserve No. 271, Westland (Site and Grounds for Asylum for Aged and Infirm Miners).

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section two hundred of “The Mining Act, 1891” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that all the provisions of the said Act relating to mining districts and to Wardens’ Courts shall have operation within the land described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 57, of the 1st September, 1887, as land reserved in Westland for a site and grounds for an asylum for aged and infirm miners, and being Reserve No. 271, containing 500 acres, situate in Blocks VII. and VIII., Mahinapua Survey District. Bounded towards the west by the Beach Road; towards the north by Sections Nos. 2153 and 2050; towards the east by a road reserved along the Mahinapua Creek; and towards the south by a line parallel with the northern boundary: exclusive of Railway Reserve No. 9.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of August, 1892.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Taniora Love, the Native owner of the lands described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such lands contained in the Land Transfer certificate, bearing date the fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Land Transfer certificate on the alienation of the said lands are hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
FIRST COLUMN.
Particulars of Grant or Instrument containing Restrictions.
Land Transfer certificate, Vol. 31, folio 131, dated 15th November, 1882, in favour of Wiremu Tako Ngatata, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale or mortgage, or by lease for longer period than twenty-one years, without consent of the Governor previously obtained.”
SECOND COLUMN.
Description of Lands.
All those parcels of land in the City of Wellington, containing 3 acres and 7 perches, and known as Sections 19, 27, 28, City of Wellington.
