Warrant authorising the Manchester Road Board to construct a Bridge over the Oroua River, and apportioning the Cost of the Bridge.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by section fifteen of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1889” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that, in any case where the local authority of any district desires to construct a bridge in any position that will, in its opinion, be of advantage and benefit to the whole or any considerable portion of the inhabitants of an adjacent district or districts, as well as to the inhabitants of its own district, and where it is, in the opinion of such local authority, reasonable that the local authority or local authorities of such district or districts whose inhabitants are to be so benefited should contribute to the cost of constructing or establishing the said bridge, the provisions in the said section mentioned shall have effect:
And whereas the Manchester Road Board has made application to the Governor to authorise the construction of the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the said bridge”), and to apportion the cost of constructing the said bridge between the said Board and the local authorities hereinafter mentioned:
And whereas an inquiry into the matter of the said application was held at Feilding on the twelfth and thirteenth days of February, and the fourth and fifth days of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and at Palmerston North on the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, by a Commissioner appointed by the Governor under the provisions of the said Act, and by his report it has been made to appear that the construction of the bridge should be authorised on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:
And whereas it appears expedient to act in accordance with the opinion expressed in such report:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, being of opinion that the said bridge should be constructed, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of every other power enabling me in that behalf, do hereby authorise the Manchester Road Board to construct the said bridge; and I do hereby declare that five-twelfths of the cost of constructing the said bridge shall be borne by the Manchester Road Board, and four-twelfths of the cost of constructing the said bridge shall be borne by the Borough Council of Feilding, and two-twelfths of the cost of constructing the said bridge shall be borne by the Manawatu Road Board, and one-twelfth of the cost of constructing the said bridge shall be borne by the Manawatu County Council.
SCHEDULE.
The bridge to be erected over the Oroua River, and the approaches on each side thereof, situated at Aorangi, in the Land District of Wellington, on the line of road known as the Feilding–Bunnythorpe Road; as the same is marked in red on the plan numbered S.G. 14910, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twentieth section of “The Coal-mines Act, 1891,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

the Chief Inspector of Machinery for the said colony, to be a Member of the Board of Examiners to conduct examinations for the purpose of the said Act, appointed on the twenty-third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, vice Henry Alexander McGregor, Esquire.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the three hundred and thirteenth section of “The Mining Act, 1891,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
WILLIAM MEFFAN MOUATT, Esquire,
the Chief Inspector of Machinery for the said colony, to be a Member of the Board of Examiners to conduct examinations of applicants for certificates as Mine Managers or Engine-drivers respectively for the purposes of the said Act, appointed on the twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, vice Henry Alexander McGregor, Esquire.
