Boundaries of District Court District of Timaru and Oamaru altered.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The District Courts Act, 1858,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, as he shall think fit, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof, districts within which District Courts shall be respectively held, and such districts to abolish, and the boundaries thereof to define or alter:
And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-third day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, a district was defined within which a District Court should be held under the said Act, and it was thereby declared that the said Court should be designated by the name of “The District Court of Timaru and Oamaru:”
And whereas by Proclamations bearing date the eighteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and the twenty eighth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, the boundaries of the said district so defined were altered:
And whereas it is expedient to further alter the boundaries of the said district so defined and altered as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the first day of September next, the boundaries of the district within which the District Court of Timaru and Oamaru shall be held shall be altered, and that thenceforth the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries hereinafter described.
TIMARU AND OAMARU DISTRICT COURT DISTRICT.
All that area in the Land Districts of Canterbury and Otago bounded towards the north-east by a line drawn along the summit of Two Thumb Range from the summit of the Southern Alps, near Mount Tyndall, to the source of Forest Creek; thence by a line along the middle of that creek to the Rangitata River; thence by a line along the middle of the said Rangitata River to the sea; thence towards the south-east by the sea to the mouth of the Waikouaiti River; thence towards the south-west generally by the said Waikouaiti River and its northern branch to a point due east of Trigonometrical Station E, Hummockside Survey District; thence by a right line to the said Trigonometrical Station E; thence by the summit of the range leading to Silver Peak; thence by the District Court District of Otago Goldfields, as the same is described in a Proclamation of even date herewith, to Mount Aspiring; and thence towards the north-west by the summit of the Southern Alps.

Proclaiming Borough of Pahiatua, County of Pahiatua.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the said Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted, as from the first day of September next, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Pahiatua, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF PAHIATUA.
ALL that area in the County of Pahiatua, in the Land District of Wellington, bounded towards the north-east by original Sections Nos. 10 and 11 (formerly part of Wellington Corporation Endowment), Block VIII., Mangahao Survey District; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 18 and 22 of the said Block VIII.; towards the south-west by the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 28 and 27 of the said Block VIII.; towards the west by Section No. 1, Block VII., Mangahao Survey District; and towards the north-west by the Mangatainoko River.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of the Havelock to Mahakipawa Road:
And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.
