notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second Tuesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Marlborough, containing by admeasurement 270 acres, more or less, situate in the District of Omaka, and being Section No. 31, and part 2 of Section No. 33, on the plan of the said district. Bounded towards the north, 3750 links, by Sections Nos. 32 and 30 on the said plan, and 1900 links by a public road 75 links wide; towards the east by the River Taylor; towards the south, 700 and 3750 links, by a public road 75 links wide; and towards the west, 5500 links, by part 1 of Section No. 33 on the said plan.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, Whakatane.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Whakatane, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.

REVISION Courts may sit for hearing applications with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 20th August, 1892.

Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: On the 1st September, 1892.

Validating Licensing Meeting.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two hundred and twenty-seven of “The Licensing Act, 1881” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is provided that if, through any accidental or unavoidable impediment, misfeasance, or omission, anything required by the said Act to be done is omitted to be done, or is not done within the time fixed, the Governor in Council may take all such measures as may be necessary for removing such impediment or rectifying such misfeasance or omission, and may validate anything which may have been irregularly done in matter of form, so that the intent and purpose of the Act may have effect;
And whereas the meeting of the Licensing Committee for the District of Pahiatua was fixed for the sixth day of June instant: And whereas it appears that the advertisement of the time and place of holding such licensing meeting was published thrice as required by the said Act, but was not so published a month before the holding of such meeting: And whereas it appears expedient to validate the publication of the said notice in manner hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the proceedings of the said Committee at or in respect of the said recited meeting shall not be deemed invalid by reason only that the three advertisements of the said meeting were not published in such manner as that the latest of such advertisements appeared one calendar month prior to the date appointed for the meeting of the Licensing Committee aforesaid.

Extending Time for holding Elections of Road Boards in Cook County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the time for holding the elections of members of the Boards of Road districts situated in Cook County is hereby extended in all such districts where there has been a failure to hold such elections, and that such elections may take place not later than the fifteenth day of the month of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.
