after termed “the said Act”), that the Governor may, by Order in Council, from time to time regulate or prohibit the exportation from the colony of any fish caught or produced in the waters of the colony: And whereas it is also provided by the said Act that the term “fish” shall include oysters: And whereas it is advisable to prohibit the exportation of the oysters known as Ostrea purpurea, Ostrea glomerata, Ostrea mordax, or the rock, shore, drift or mangrove oyster respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby prohibit, as from the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, the exportation from the colony of all oysters known as Ostrea purpurea, Ostrea glomerata, Ostrea mordax, or rock oysters, shore oysters, drift or mangrove oysters, or by whatever name they may be locally known respectively, taken or produced in the waters of the said colony.

Regulations for Examinations, &c., under Dentists Acts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by virtue of the provisions of “The Dentists Act, 1880” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), as amended by “The Dentists Acts Amendment Act, 1891,” it is provided that the Governor in Council may appoint a Board or Boards of Examiners for the purpose of conducting examinations and granting certificates under the said Act, and that such examinations shall be conducted and such certificates granted in such manner and form respectively as regulations direct: And whereas Boards of Examiners have been appointed, and it appears expedient to make the regulations hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-recited Acts, and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby prescribe the regulations mentioned and set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that such regulations shall respectively take effect on and after the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

REGULATIONS.

  1. CANDIDATES for the certificate of the Board of Examiners must apply at the office of the Board for the district, and leave their testimonials and proofs of their having served a three years’ apprenticeship.

  2. Candidates in other respects entitled to be registered under “The Dentists Act, 1880,” or “The Dentists Act 1880 Amendment Act, 1881,” shall pass an examination before the Board of Examiners in the following subjects: Dental anatomy and physiology, dental pathology and therapeutics, and manipulation, including a sufficient knowledge of metallurgy.

  3. When the Board of Examiners shall have ascertained that the candidate possesses those qualifications which entitle him under the Dentists Act to his certificate without examination, he shall receive a certificate setting out the nature of his qualifications, and certifying that they fulfil the requirements of the Dentists Act.

  4. If the testimonials are such as to qualify the candidate to pass the examination as determined by the Act, the Secretary of the Board will give the candidate notice of the day on which the Board will be prepared to examine him, such day to be not more than one month after the date of the application and the deposit of sufficient testimonials.

  5. When a candidate shall have passed an examination before the Board of Examiners, the following shall be the form of certificate of registration: “Certificate under Dentists Act.—I hereby certify that A.B. has duly passed the examination prescribed for candidates seeking registration under ‘The Dentists Act, 1880,’ and its amendments.—Dated this day of , 18 .—C.D., Chairman of the Board of Examiners.”

  6. The fee for examination in dentistry is five guineas.

  7. Each Board of Examiners appointed by the Governor in Council shall hold office for a term of three years dating from the time of appointment. Any member of such Board absenting himself from three successive meetings of the Board, without leave of the Chairman, shall ipso facto cease to be a member of the Board, and the vacancy thereby caused shall be filled as in the case of a casual vacancy.

  8. Each Board shall have power to make such by-laws as it may think necessary for regulating the conduct of business, times and places of meetings, time and place for examinations, and remuneration of examiners, and other similar matters; provided such by-laws be not inconsistent with “The Dentists Act, 1880,” or its amendments, or with these regulations. A copy of every by-law shall be sent to the Colonial Secretary for approval.

  9. The Board shall receive all fees payable in respect of examinations or otherwise, and shall account for the same in the same manner as other public moneys are directed to be accounted for.

Declaring a Portion of the Catlin’s–Waikawa Road, in Clutha County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the road in the Clutha County known as the Catlin’s–Waikawa Road, described in the Schedule below, and which was made by the Governor under the powers contained in the said Act, and has hitherto been a Government road, shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the road known as the Catlin’s–Waikawa Road which commences at the eastern approach of the McKenzie Bridge, near the Town of Ratanui, and proceeds in a generally south-westerly direction to the sea-coast at Taukupu Bay, all in Clutha County, Land District of Otago; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 14262A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Powers delegated to the Omaka Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Omaka Public Domain Board, namely,—

THOMAS HORTON,
CHARLES REDWOOD,
JOHN CLERVAUX CHAYTOR,
ARTHUR PENROSE SEYMOUR, and
ROBERT MCARTNEY

(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Wednesday in each month, at two o’clock p.m., at the offices of the Borough Council, Blenheim, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’
