Rules of the Nelson Acclimatisation Society registered.

IT is hereby notified that a copy of the rules of the Nelson Acclimatisation Society, duly signed, have been deposited in this office; and the said society is therefore deemed to be a duly-registered acclimatisation society under “The Animals Protection Act, 1880.”

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound be struck to meet the interest and charges on an additional 10 per cent. to be raised on the £400 loan, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for forming and metalling Mauriceville West Road, such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years.

I certify that the above special order has been duly made.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Sumner.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Sumner, is published in accordance with “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, BOROUGH OF SUMNER.

I, WILLIAM HAYWARD, Mayor of the Borough of Sumner, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, New Zealand, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the burgesses of the said Borough of Sumner to a proposal to borrow £2,000 by way of special loan towards the construction of waterworks, provide all mains, engine, and plant necessary for the Borough of Sumner, have been duly taken; and that a resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried, the result of a poll taken on the 30th day of April, 1892, being as follows:—

Number of burgesses on the roll, 195; number of votes on the roll, 258; votes for the proposal, 151; against the proposal, nil; number of voters for the proposal, 111; number of voters against the proposal, nil.

A majority in number of the burgesses, exercising more than one-half of the total number of votes, having voted in favour of the proposal, I declare the proposal and resolution to be duly carried. And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans, Totara, Kanieri, and Arahura Ridings, County of Westland.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Westland County Council, are published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

TOTARA RIDING.

THE following is the result of the poll taken on Saturday, the 30th April, 1892, on a proposal to raise a loan of £875, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the construction and undertaking of certain works in the above-mentioned riding:—

Number of ratepayers on roll 58, representing 61 votes; 23 ratepayers, representing 26 votes, voted in favour of, and 8 ratepayers, representing 8 votes, against, the proposal.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be lost.

KANIERI RIDING.

The following is the result of the poll taken on Saturday, the 30th April, 1892, on a proposal to raise a loan of £2,625, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the construction and undertaking of certain works in the above-mentioned riding:—

Number of ratepayers on roll 475, representing 481 votes; 214 ratepayers, representing 217 votes, voted in favour of, and 66 ratepayers, representing 66 votes, against, the proposal.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be lost.

ARAHURA RIDING.

The following is the result of the poll taken on Monday, the 2nd May, 1892, on a proposal to raise a loan of £2,500, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the construction and undertaking of certain works in the above-mentioned riding:—

Number of ratepayers on roll 676, representing 679 votes; 280 ratepayers, representing 284 votes, voted in favour of, and 151 ratepayers, representing 151 votes, against, the proposal.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be lost.

MANAWATU ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll taken at Mr. Joseph Saunders’s residence, Rangitikei Line, Manawatu Road Board District, on the 25th April, 1892, on proposal to raise a loan of £520, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to clear, form, and metal the road known as Cameron’s Line:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll 10, representing 15 votes; 6 ratepayers, representing 9 votes, voted in favour of, and 4 ratepayers, representing 6 votes, against, the proposal.

I therefore declare such proposal to be carried.
