Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over the Province of South Aus-
tralia and the Dependencies thereof, &c.
By virtue of the provisions of “The Stock Diseases Act,
1888,” I, the Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, do, by this my Proclamation, prohibit
the importation and introduction of horses into the said
province directly or indirectly from the State of California,
in the United States of America, for a period of twelve
months from the date hereof, for the purpose of preventing
the introduction into the said province of the disease called
glanders.
Given under my hand and the public seal of the said
province, at Adelaide, this twelfth day of April, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-two, and in the fifty-fifth year of Her
Majesty’s reign.

New South Wales, is published for general informa-
tion.

JERSEY, jesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council,
Governor. Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief of the Colony of New
South Wales and its Dependencies.
WHEREAS by section ten of the Imported Stock Act of 1871
the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation in the Govern-
ment Gazette, to restrict or absolutely prohibit for any speci-
fied time the importation or introduction of any stock,
fodder, or fittings from any other colony or country in which
there is reason to believe any infectious or contagious
disease in stock exists: And whereas by a Proclamation
under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, published
in the Government Gazette of the 22nd May, 1888, pursuant
to the provisions of the Imported Stock Act of 1871, amongst
other things, glanders in horses was declared to be an in-
fectious or contagious disease: And whereas there is reason
to believe that glanders in horses exists at the present time
in California: Now, therefore, I, Victor Albert George, Earl
of Jersey, Governor aforesaid, with the advice of the Exe-
cutive Council, do, by this my Proclamation, absolutely pro-
hibit, for a period of twelve months from the date of this
Proclamation, the importation or introduction of any horses
or any fodder or fittings put on board any vessel with or for
the use of any horses from California.
Given under my hand and seal, at Government House,
Sydney, this tenth day of March, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
two, and in the fifty-fifth year of Her Majesty’s
reign.

DREDGING OPERATIONS, PORT OF WELLINGTON.
NOTICE is hereby given that Dredge No. 222 is engaged
dredging to the north-east of the Railway Wharf, Wellington,
within a distance of a cable’s length therefrom. Vessels are
warned not to approach the north-eastern side of the Railway
Wharf, and to keep clear of any anchors, moorings, or buoys
laid down for the purposes of the dredge.

has been pleased to approve of the disbandment of
the under-mentioned Volunteer corps:—

disbandment, 24th April, 1892.
ROYAL IRISH RIFLE VOLUNTEERS (Auckland). Date of
disbandment, 5th March, 1892.
The following gentlemen therefore cease to be officers in
the New Zealand Volunteer Force, their commissions having
lapsed under clause 51, Volunteer Regulations, 1889:—
