Officers appointed under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” for Wellington District.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 9 of “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,”

FREDERICK MOORHOUSE, of Wellington, and
HARRY DUNSTAN ATKINSON, of Lower Hutt,

have been appointed officers for the purposes of that Act within the Counties of Hutt, Horowhenua, Wairarapa North, Wairarapa South, Pahiatua, Oroua, and Manawatu, and within all the town districts and boroughs situated within the said counties.

By-law made by Collingwood County Council.—Vehicles to carry Lights in Takaka Riding.

THE following by-law, made by the Collingwood County Council, is published for general information.

BY-LAW.

No owner or driver of any vehicle, whether public or private, shall drive such vehicle or permit the same to be driven, or to stand in or upon any street or public place, within the Riding of Takaka, between sunset and sunrise, unless such vehicle shall have, whilst being driven or standing as aforesaid, two proper lamps, one on either side thereof, alight, and plainly visible to any one meeting such vehicle. This by-law only to apply to vehicles on springs.

Penalty: Any person offending against this by-law, or committing any breach thereof, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5 for every such offence.

Special Order made by Hutt County Council.—Merging Wellington Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Hutt County Council, is published in accordance with “The Counties Act, 1886.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

WHEREAS a petition signed by a majority of the ratepayers of the Wellington District Road Board, whose property in respect of which they are rated is situated within the Hutt County, has been duly presented to us, the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Hutt County in Council assembled, praying that, by virtue of the powers in us vested by section 53 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” we would declare the Wellington District Road Board dissolved and absolved, and the Wellington Road District to be merged in the Hutt County: And whereas such petition has been duly published in the district on the 5th and other days of the month of February last past: And whereas it has been made to appear to us that all provisions of law regulating the form and procedure in connection with the aforesaid petition have been duly complied with: And whereas we, the Chairman and Councillors of the Hutt County, in special meeting assembled, think fit to grant the prayer of the aforesaid petition: Now, therefore, it is hereby resolved and declared, pursuant to the prayer of the petition aforesaid, that the Wellington District Road Board shall, as from the 30th day of April, 1892, be dissolved, and that, as from the said 30th day of April, 1892, the Wellington Road District be merged in the Hutt County.

Passed by this Council, at a special meeting, the 8th day of March, 1892; confirmed by this Council, this 12th day of April, 1892.

No. 2. That the present method of conducting elections under section 48 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” be rescinded.
