defined by Proclamation to be issued in that behalf; but no more than ten thousand acres shall be so set apart or proclaimed in one block at any one time, and the lands so set apart and proclaimed from time to time shall not, in the aggregate, exceed seven hundred and fifty thousand acres: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith, and the said lands are comprised in one block, containing seven thousand five hundred acres: And whereas it is expedient the said land should be set apart and defined by this Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf under the hereinbefore-mentioned contract or otherwise, do hereby proclaim and declare that the block of land defined and described in the Schedule hereto is set apart under the provisions of the said contract for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Land District of Nelson, situated in the Mawheranui Survey District, and containing 7,500 acres, more or less. Bounded by a line commencing at Trig. C (Mawheranui), and proceeding up Nelson Creek to the western boundary of Section No. 6, Block VII., Mawheranui; thence along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 6 and 5, Block VII., to the southern bank of Nelson Creek; thence along the southern bank thereof to its intersection with the southern boundary-line of Block VII., Mawheranui Survey District; thence along that boundary-line to a point one mile and a quarter east from the south-western corner; thence along a line bearing S. 59° W. for a distance of two miles and a half; thence along a line bearing S. 64° W. to the north-eastern bank of the Ongonui or Twelve-mile Creek; thence along the north bank of that creek to Section No. 104, Block X., Mawheranui Survey District; thence along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that section to the Greymouth-Reefton Road; and thence along that Road to Trig. C aforesaid, the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold land, leasehold land, and reserves.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the Government of Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Vesting a Reserve in the Borough of Ashburton.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, 1892.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved permanently for a gravel-pit on the eighteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Administrator of the Government, it is expedient to vest the said land in the inhabitants of the Borough of Ashburton:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested, in trust, for a gravel-pit, for the use of the inhabitants of the Borough of Ashburton, and under the control and management of the Corporation of such borough.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1613 (in red), formerly Lots Nos. 911, 912, 913, 914, 921, 922, 923, and 924, situated in the Town of Ashburton. Bounded on the north-west by Town Sections Nos. 910 and 920, 500 links; on the north-east by the North Town Belt, 400·6 links; on the south-east by Cass Street, 500 links; and on the south-west by Grey Street, 400·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, 1892.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made by the Superintendent of Canterbury on the twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, for public recreation in the Land District of Canterbury, and known as the Little River Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, situate near Little River, and containing 200 acres, more or less. Bounded on the north-eastward by Rural Section No. 6646; on the eastward by a line at right angles to the road leading to Taumutu so as to meet the southernmost corner of Rural Section No. 6646; on the southward by that road; on the north-westward by the continuation of the road forming the north-west boundary of Rural Section No. 6646; and on the westward by a line at right angles to the first mentioned road, to include the required area.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto, situate in the Land District of Canterbury, near Little River, and containing two hundred acres, more or less, is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as the Little River Domain Board, namely,—
