colony, doth hereby abolish the North Wairarapa Rabbit District, as the same is defined by Order in Council bearing date the seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twentieth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall take effect on the day of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of March, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Marie Makurangi, Harata te Retiu, and Raniera Erihana as Trustee for Hamuera te Retiu, comprising a majority in number of the Native owners of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Land Transfer certificate, bearing date the twenty-second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Land Transfer certificate on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

FIRST COLUMN.
Particulars of Grant or Instrument containing Restrictions.

Land Transfer certificate, Vol. 53, folio 173, dated 22nd November, 1889, issued by the District Land Registrar for the District of Wellington, in favour of Paora te Retiu, Harata te Retiu, Hamuera te Retiu, and Marie Makurangi, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale or mortgage, or by lease beyond twenty-one years.”

SECOND COLUMN.
Description of Lands.

All that parcel of land in the City of Wellington, containing 3 roods 31·2 perches, and known as Section 8, Polhill Gully.

Vaccination Districts constituted.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination district known as the Masterton District; and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Masterton and Eketa-huna Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be co-terminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—UNSURVEYED SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Mangonui County.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Whakapaku, and containing approximately 900 acres. Bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea; towards the south-east by a right line being the production in a north-easterly direction of the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 6 of the Parish of Whakapaku; and towards the south-west by said Section No. 6 to the point of commencement.

Broken land, fronting coast-line near Tupo Bay, outside Whangaroa Heads; the land is covered about two-thirds of it with mixed bush, remainder fern land. Price, 10s. an acre.

Coromandel County.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in Blocks V. and VIII., Harataunga Survey District, and containing approximately 468 acres. Bounded towards the north by a road reserve along the foreshore of Cabbage Bay; towards the east generally by Moehau No. 3E Block, by Section No. 11 of Block V., Harataunga Survey District, by a public road, and by Section No. 10 of Block VIII., Harataunga Survey District; towards the south-west by Moehau No. 3 Block; and towards the north-west generally by Moehau No. 3A Block and by Sections Nos. 5 and 9 of Block V., Harataunga Survey District, to the point of commencement.

Very broken and of poor quality, chiefly covered with fern and tea-tree, with a little mixed forest. Cash price, 7s. 6d. per acre.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game, License-fee, &c., Hawera District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and quail may be taken or killed within the Hawera District, consisting of the Counties of Hawera and Patea, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmasters at Hawera and Patea are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both days inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.
