IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hares may be taken or killed within the Grey District, consisting of the County of Grey, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both days inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned); and that cock-pheasants and quail may be taken or killed in the said district from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both inclusive (also subject to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned); and I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Greymouth is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both days inclusive.

And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Timaru, and the Postmaster at Waimate, are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, both days inclusive.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Southland.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified in each case at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, being Section No. 6 of Block I., Russell Survey District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 3, Block I., Russell Survey District, 795 links; towards the east generally by a public road, 288, 219, 422, and 223 links; towards the south by a line, 390 links; and towards the west by a line, 800 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery under “The Cemeteries Act, 1882.”

All that parcel of land situate in the Land District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 8 perches, more or less, being Section No. 102 of the Suburbs of Pahi, Otamatea County. Bounded north-westerly by Section No. 101, 892 links; north-easterly by a public road, 255 and 439 links respectively; south-easterly by Section No. 103, 1192 links; and south-westerly by the Arapaoa River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 4049 (in blue), deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Auckland. For a public recreation-ground.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 32 perches, more or less, being Allotment No. 2 of Section No. 19, Block III., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by a public road; on the south-east by Allotments Nos. 8 and 7; on the south-west by Section No. 20; and on the north-west by Allotment No. 1: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a public-school site.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 8 of Section No. 19, Block III., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by a public road; on the south-east by Allotments Nos. 3 and 7; and on the south-west and north-west by Allotment No. 2; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a quarry for the use of the inhabitants of the Mangaone District.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 36 acres 2 roods 32 perches, more or less, being Section No. 54, Block III., Pohangina Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 50; on the south-east by the Pohangina River; on the south by Section No. 46; and on the north-west by Section No. 49 and a public road which also runs through the said section: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For river-protection purposes.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 48 acres 2 roods 8 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2958 (in red), Block XV., Opuha Survey District. Bounded on the north by Reserve No. 2602 and a road, 448 and 2796-2 links respectively; on the south-east by a road, 4500 links; and on the west by Section No. 36290B and Reserve No. 2602, 2668 and 448 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch. For a public-school site.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 200 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2959 (in red), Blocks V., VI., and IX., Tekapo Survey District. Bounded generally on the north-eastward and south-eastward by the road reserved along the shores of
