poses of the said Act, the descriptions and boundaries
whereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto;
and I do hereby declare that for the purposes of the said
Act each of such districts shall be known by the name set
over the description of each such district respectively.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Land District of Auckland, bounded
towards the north-west and north generally by the Waitemata Harbour and Hobson Bay to the road at the northern
boundary of Allotment No. 218; thence towards the east
generally by the road leading to the Orakei; thence by the
said Orakei Road; towards the south generally by Remuera
Road, Market Road, the Great South Road, the road forming
the northern and western boundaries of Educational Endowment Allotments Nos. 23A and 23B, by Owen’s Road, Allotments Nos. 12 and 13 of Section No. 10, Suburbs of Auckland, by Oaklands Road, Valley Road, Mount Roskill Road,
Burnley Terrace, Kingsland Road, and the Auckland-Helensville Railway line to the Meola Stream; and towards
the south-west generally by the Meola Stream to the Waitemata Harbour.

WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

All that area in the Land District of Wellington, bounded
generally towards the south by the ocean, from the Karori
Stream to Palmer Head; thence towards the east generally
and again towards the south by the waters of Port Nicholson to the northern boundary-line of Section No. 20, Lowry
Bay District; again towards the east generally by the eastern
boundary-lines of the Borough of Lower Hutt; towards the
north generally by the northern boundary-lines of the said
borough and the northern boundary-line of the Borough of
Petone, by the northern boundary-line of Section No. 78, and
by Sections Nos. 9, 8, 25, 23, 21, 19, 17, 15, and part of 14,
and by the northern boundary-lines of Johnsonville Town
District; and thence generally towards the west by a road-line passing through Sections Nos. 17, 15, 14, 13, 10, 11, 8, 7,
6, 5, 2, 109, 128, and 129, Ohariu District, through Section
No. 56, to the Borough of Karori; thence by the western
boundary-lines of that borough to the Karori Stream; and
thence by that stream to the ocean.

CHRISTCHURCH DISTRICT.

All that area in the Land District of Canterbury, bounded
towards the north by the road forming the southern
boundary of Section No. 134, Block XI., Rangiora Survey
District, to the North Road; thence by said North Road,
Lee’s Road, and a line in continuation of the southern
side of the said road to the ocean; thence towards the east
and south by the ocean and Lyttelton Harbour to Dyer’s
Pass Road; towards the west generally by Dyer’s Pass
Road and by the road intersecting Sections Nos. 138 and
562, and that road continued past Section No. 551, and
through Section No. 549, and part Section No. 814, to the
plantation and road reserve near Cashmere; thence by a
line across that reserve to the River Heathcote; thence
towards the west generally by the said River Heathcote to
the Lincoln and Riccarton Junction Road; thence by the
said road to the road forming the southern boundary of
Section No. 85; thence by the said road and the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 85, 12, 51, 93,
and 94 to the Wairarapa Creek; thence by the said creek
to the Sawyer’s Arms Road; thence by the said road and the
Harewood Road by Papanui to the North Road; thence by
the said North Road to the Waimakariri River; thence by
the said river to the southern boundary of the Borough of
Kaiapoi; thence by the southern and western boundaries of
the said borough to the Amberley and Bluff Railway-line;
thence by the said railway-line to the north branch of the
Waimakariri River; thence by the said branch to the road
forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 338c; thence
by that road and the road forming the eastern boundaries of
Sections Nos. 4269, 2353, 2268, and 416.

DUNEDIN DISTRICT.

All that area in the Land District of Otago, bounded
towards the north generally by the north-western boundary-line of the Borough of Port Chalmers, and by Section No. 10,
Lower Harbour West Survey District, by Blocks VI. and
VII., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, to and
by a road-line passing through Sections Nos. 1 of 86 and 66
of said Block VII., across a road-line, and by Section No. 29
and by Blocks XII. and III. of last-mentioned district to
Swampy Hill; towards the north-west generally by the
western boundary-lines of the Borough of Maori Hill and the
northern boundary-lines of the Borough of Roslyn to the
road at the southern boundary of Section No. 65, Block VI.,
Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, and by that road
to Section No. 4 of said block; thence by a road passing
through said Section No. 4 and Sections Nos. 3, 2, and 1;
thence passing through Sections Nos. 7 and 8, Block XIII.,
Taieri Survey District; thence passing through Sections Nos.
2, 1, and 7, Block XIV., of said district, by Block IV., Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to a road forming the
north-western boundary of said Section No. 7, by said road
and its continuation to the western corner of Section No. 12,
Block XI.; towards the south-west generally by a road-line
to the southern corner of Section No. 19, part of Irregular
Block; thence by a road-line being the southern boundary
of Sections Nos. 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24; thence by a road-line passing through Section No. 32, all of said Irregular
Block, and forming the southern boundary of Sections Nos.
1 of 33, 77, 2 of 29, 1 of 29, 74, 30, and 23 of Block VII.,
Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, across the Main
South Road, and by the last-mentioned district and by
Section No. 42 of Block VII. of said district to a tributary of
the Kaikorai River, and by that tributary and that river to
the ocean; towards the south generally by the ocean; and
towards the south-east generally by a creek east of Lawyer’s
Head and by a lagoon to Block VII., Anderson’s Bay Survey
District, and by Blocks VII. and V. of said district to the
waters of Anderson’s Bay, and by those waters and the
waters of Otago Harbour to the northernmost corner of
Port Chalmers Borough.

Regulations under “The Factories Act, 1891.”

ONSLow, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of December, 1891.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE MR. BUCKLEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Factories Act, 1891,” it is enacted
that the Governor in Council may from time to time
make, alter, and repeal regulations not inconsistent with
the said Act for the several purposes specified in that behalf:
And whereas it appears expedient to make the regulations
hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby make the regulations and prescribe the fees set
forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that
such regulations and fees shall come into force and take
effect on and after the first day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-two.

SCHEDULE.

(1.) Interpretation.

In these regulations, if not inconsistent with the context,—
“Occupier of a factory” means an occupier as defined
by “The Factories Act, 1891:”
“The said Act” means “The Factories Act, 1891:”
“Factory or work-room” means factory or work-room as
defined by the said Act.

(2.) Form of Notice under Section 9 of Act.

The notice to be given under section 9 of “The Factories
Act, 1891,” by the occupier of a factory or work-room, and
the particulars to be set forth in such notice, shall be in the
form prescribed in the First Schedule hereto, or to the like
effect. Every such notice shall be served on the Inspector and on the Board respectively by delivering the
same personally or through the usual course of post, so as to
reach the Inspector and the Board within the time limited
by the said Act.

(3.) Form of Returns.

The returns to be made by the occupiers of factories and
work-rooms and by employers shall be in the form prescribed
in the Second Schedule hereto, or to the like effect.

Such returns shall be furnished to the Inspector at such
times as he may reasonably require in each case.

(4.) Table of Fees for Registration of Factories and
Work-rooms.

The fees to be taken and received per annum for the
registration of factories and work-rooms shall be as follows:—

(a.) For every factory or work-room in which more than thirty persons are employed .. .. .. £ s. d.

(c.) For every factory or work-room in which more than three, and not more than ten, persons are employed .. .. .. 0 5 0

Such fees shall be paid each year to an Inspector of Factories and Work-rooms to whom the district in which the
factory or work-room is situated has been assigned.
