That the said rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable at the office of the Board, in two equal instalments, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year, commencing on the 1st day of February, 1892.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” the Board of the Masterton Road District resolves as follows:—
That a special rate of 9¾d. in the pound be made on the rateable value for the time being of Sections 78, 80, 81, 82, and 83, Block IX., and Sections 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, and 89, Block V., all in the Kopuaranga Survey District, for the purpose of meeting interest and annual charges on a loan of £1,500 for expenditure in formation on Northcroft’s Road, between its junction with the Kaka-amu Valley and Dorset’s Roads.
That the said rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable at the office of the Board, in two equal instalments, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year, commencing on the 1st day of February, 1892.

THE following special order, made by the Featherston Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
That a special rate of 6¾d. in the pound be levied on all properties appearing in the valuation-roll for the Ruakokopotuna Special Rating District, comprising part 3, Block V., about 1,100 acres; 2 of Block XII., 400 acres; 2 and 6 of Block VIII., 1,578 acres; 1 of Block XII., 521 acres; part Block VIII., 700 acres; 4 of Block VIII., 683 acres; 5 of Block VIII., 570 acres: the properties of Mrs. C. Elgar, Messrs. John McLeod, W. A. Nathan, B. Olliver, C. Phillips, M. K. Samuel, and George Williams, respectively, and all situated in the Haurangi and Waipawa Survey Districts, in the Featherston District. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for a period of twenty-six years, payable by half-yearly instalments on the first days of February and August in each year. The first of such payments to be deemed to be due and payable on the 1st February, 1892, and is made to secure the payment of interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of acquiring a road to the said lands, and as agreed to by a poll of ratepayers of the said special rating district taken on the 11th March, 1881.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand railways, to come into force on and after the 7th day of December, 1891:—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
NAPIER-TARANAKI SECTION.—WANGANUI STATION.
Cattle and sheep occupying or using the railway cattle-yards, but which are not carried by railway, will be charged as follows:—

Additional By-law for New Zealand Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon them by or under “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the following by-law, that is to say:—
BY-LAW.
No animal or animals shall trespass on a railway open for traffic, or on any part thereof; and, if any animal or animals is or are found so trespassing, the owner thereof shall be deemed to have committed a breach of this by-law, and shall be liable for such breach to a penalty not exceeding £10. Notwithstanding the liability of any person to a penalty under this by-law, any officers of the said Commissioners, or any police constable or any other person, may impound any animal or animals that may be found so trespassing as aforesaid, and liable by law to be impounded.
This by-law shall apply to all railways open for traffic and vested in the said Commissioners under “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” or under any other Act; and the by-law made by the said Commissioners on the 28th day of November, 1890, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 4th day of December in the same year, is hereby revoked.
