sentatives for the Electoral District of Wellington City.

IN compliance with the provisions of the sixty-first section
of "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," I hereby
notify that THOMAS KENNEDY MACDONALD, Esq., has re-
signed his seat in the House of Representatives for the
Electoral District of Wellington City, and that his letter of
resignation was received by me on the 1st day of December,
1891, and that the said seat is vacant by reason of such
resignation.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Wairoa County Council.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Wairoa County Council, is published in accordance with
"The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

RESULT OF POLL.

THE following is the result of the poll taken in the Clyde
Riding of the Wairoa County, upon a proposal to raise a
loan of £3,250 for metalling the road from Wairoa to Wai-
hua:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 166, exercising 219
votes; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal 60,
exercising 81 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against
the proposal 5, exercising 9 votes; informal 1, exercising
1 vote.
As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of
votes recorded for the proposal are in each case less than a
majority of the total numbers on the roll, I therefore
declare the proposal to be rejected.

THE following special order, made by the Norsewood
Road Board, is published in accordance with "The
Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," be specially
adopted by the Norsewood Road Board upon the 21st day of
November, 1891, for the purpose of raising a loan of £350
under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," and the amendments thereof, such loan to be expended in
forming and metalling France's Road in the said road dis-
trict; such loan to be raised on the security of a special rate
to be levied on Sections 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, and 46,
Block X., and Section 1, Block V., Norsewood Survey Dis-
trict; and such special adopting of "The Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1886," to apply to the lands so proposed to be
specially rated.
