This section is situated about half a mile east of the Alford Forest Post-office, and comprises flat land of fair quality, but stony in places.

This section is situated near the sea-coast, half way between the Ashley and Kowai Rivers, about three and a half miles from Balcairn, and comprises sandhills and swamp, covered in places by fern and rushes; the swamp is subject to overflow by the sea.

This section is situated about a mile north of the Alford Forest Post-office, adjacent to the village settlement of that name, and comprises flat land, swampy in places and requiring draining, and hilly land with light soil; the whole area was formerly covered with bush, and is now partly covered with scrub, stumps and a few trees are still standing.
