the last-mentioned section to Horokiwi Riding. This district
comprises also the Borough of Foxton and Kapiti Island.

Wellington Suburbs comprise the Karori-Makara Road
District, the Seatoun Road District, the Porirua Riding, of
Hutt County; and that part of Epuni Riding, of Hutt County,
which lies south-west of the road commencing at the
northern boundary of Section 436, Hutt District, and pro-
ceeding southerly, passing Sections 436, 433, 434, to and along
the valley of the western Hutt, and terminating at the
boundary of the Borough of Lower Hutt below Belmont;
together with the Boroughs of Melrose, Onslow, Karori,
Lower Hutt, and Petone. Johnsonville Town District is
in this electorate, and the islands of Mana and Somes.

City of Wellington comprises the City of Wellington.

MIDDLE ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

City of Nelson comprises the City of Nelson and the
Borough of Richmond; together with the Wangamoa and
Stoke Ridings, of Waimea County; and that part of Wai-iti
Riding, of the same county, which lies between the Wairoa
River and the Nelson and Foxhill Railway, east of the road
forming the western boundaries of Sections 53, 54, 60, and
140, Waimea Survey District, and east of a line drawn along
the eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 3, Waimea.

Waimea-Sounds comprises Sounds County, and the whole
of Waimea County, excepting (1) the Ridings of Stoke, Wa-
gamoa, Wangapeka, and Motupiko; (2) that part of Wai-iti
Riding which is situated between the Wairoa River and the
Nelson and Foxhill Railway, and east of the road on the
western boundaries of Sections 53, 54, 60, and 140, Waimea
Survey District, and east of a line drawn so as to include
Sections 2 and 3; and (3) that part of Motueka Riding
lying north from Sandy Bay, and more particularly de-
scribed as situated to the west of Sections 2 of 13, 4, 204, 5,
and 82, and north of the road leading towards Takaka;
together with the Riding of Pelorus and Havelock Town
District, both of Marlborough County, and the Brothers
and D’Urville and adjacent islands.

Wairau comprises the whole of Marlborough County, ex-
cepting Pelorus Riding and Havelock Town District; together
with the Boroughs of Picton and Blenheim.

Buller comprises the Ridings of Wareatea North and
Karamea, of Buller County; also that portion of Lyell Rid-
ing, of the same county, which lies north of the Buller
River; and the whole of the Collingwood County; together
with the Wangapeka Riding, of Waimea County; that part
of Motueka Riding, of the last-named county, to the north
of the road leading from Sandy Bay towards Takaka, and
west of a line excluding Sections 2 of 13, 4, 204, 5, and 82;
and the Borough of Westport. The southern and south-
eastern boundaries of this district, extending from the mouth
of the Buller River as far as the Baton River, remain un-
altered.

Inangahua comprises the following: The whole of Inanga-
hua County; the Ridings of Charleston and Wareatea South,
of Buller County; and that part of Lyell Riding, of Buller
County, situated south of the Buller River; together with
the Waipuna Riding, of Grey County; and the part of Brun-
ner Riding, of the same county, which lies north-east of the
watershed between Moonlight Creek and Blackball Creek;
and the Motupiko Riding, of Waimea County. The northern
boundary of this district, from the Buller mouth to the Baton
River, remains unaltered.

Grey comprises the Ridings of Hohonu, Marsden, Maori
Creek, Paroa, Cobden, Nelson Creek, and Red Jack’s, of Grey
County; and that portion of Brunnerton Riding lying to the
south-west of the watershed between Moonlight Creek and
Blackball Creek; together with that portion of Westland
County north of the road leading from Kumara via Chester-
field Township to the mouth of the Arahura River. This dis-
trict includes also the Boroughs of Brunner and Greymouth.

Westland comprises almost the whole of Westland County;
the portion omitted being that lying to the north of the road
leading from the mouth of the Arahura River to Kumara via
Chesterfield Township. The Boroughs of Kumara, Ross, and
Hokitika are in this electorate.

Ashley comprises the Counties of Kaikoura, Amuri, and
Cheviot; together with the Ridings of Waipara, Mount
Thomas, and Kowai, of Ashley County; and that portion of
Oxford Riding, of the last-mentioned county, which is
situated west of the road leading from East Oxford north-
wards towards Glentui, and north of the Oxford-Sheffield
Railway. Amberley Town District is in this electorate.

Kaipoi comprises the Ridings of Cust and Mandeville, and
the West Eyreton Road District, of Ashley County; together
with that portion of Oxford Riding situated south of the
Oxford-Sheffield Railway, and east of the road leading from
East Oxford towards Glentui; and the east portion of Eyre-
ton Road District, of Ashley County, situated on Kaipoi
Island, north of Cherry Road and east of Kaikainui Creek,
and of the road passing Sections 738 and 560. Included also

in this electorate are the Boroughs of Rangiora and Kaipoi.
The northern, southern, and eastern boundaries of this dis-
trict are unaltered.

Avon comprises that portion of the Heathcote Road Dis-
trict, of Selwyn County, which is situated north-east of the
Canal and Road Reserve (or, in other words, the present
electoral boundary); and the whole of Eyreton Road Dis-
trict, of Ashley County; excepting that portion of Kaipoi
Island south of Cherry Road, near Clarkville Post-office, east
of the Kaikainui Creek and of the road passing Sections 738
and 560; together with that portion of the Avon Road Dis-
trict, of Selwyn County, which lies east of a line commencing at the northern boundary of the Borough of St. Albans,
and proceeding northerly to and along Kelly’s Road, Hill’s
Road, Hawkins Road, and the Canal and Road Reserve, to
and across the railway-line at Chaney’s Station, and along
the road skirting the Waimakariri River to White’s Bridge.
Woolston and Linwood Town Districts are in this electoral
district.

Lyttelton comprises the Port Levy Riding of Akaroa
County; and that portion of Heathcote Road District which
is situated to the south-west of the Canal and Road Reserve
between Woolston and Linwood; together with the Borough
of Lyttelton and Sumner Town District.

Ellesmere comprises the Ridings of Wainui, Little River,
Le Bon’s Bay, and Okain’s Bay, of Akaroa County; that
portion of Ellesmere Riding, of Selwyn County, lying to the
south of the Southbridge Railway-line, and of the North
Rakaia and Taumumu Junction Road; that portion of
Lincoln Riding lying to the south of the Southbridge Rail-
way-line, and west of Halswell River and Junction Road;
and that portion of Halswell Road District lying to the
south-east of the road leading from the Halswell River,
at Section 1487, to and past the Halswell Road Board
Office to the Plantation and Road Reserve, thence along that
reserve to the Heathcote River near Cashmere, and to the
north-east of the Heathcote River. This district includes
also the Borough of Akaroa and Southbridge Town District.

Riccarton comprises that portion of Avon Riding, of Selwyn
County, which is situate to the west of a line drawn from the
northern boundary of the Borough of St. Albans to Kelly’s
Road, thence northerly along that road and Hill’s Road and
Hawkins Road to the Canal and Road Reserve, and along
that reserve crossing the railway-line at Chaney’s, and along
the road skirting the Waimakariri River to White’s Bridge;
and the whole of Riccarton Riding of Selwyn County, ex-
cepting (1) Hagley Park and a block of land between the
park boundary and the railway, and north of Riccarton
Road and south of the Avon River, and (2) that portion
of Riccarton Riding lying south of Newton and Coal
Tramway Road and west of Prebbleton and Waimakariri
Road; together with that portion of Halswell Riding lying
to the north-west of the road leading from Halswell River, at
Section 1487, to and past the Halswell Road Board Office to
the Plantation and Road Reserve, and along that Road
Reserve to the Heathcote River near Cashmere; and to the
south-west of the Heathcote River; and that portion of
Lincoln Riding, of Selwyn County, which lies to the east of
Harewood and Hampton’s Road, and of the Southbridge
Railway-line, and north of Leadley’s Road, of the road at
the western boundaries of Sections 5772, 7626, 5784, and
5502, and of Halswell Road by Ladbrook’s.

City of Christchurch comprises the City of Christchurch
and the Boroughs of Sydenham and St. Albans, together
with Hagley Park and the narrow strip of Riccarton Riding
between the park boundary and the Northern Trunk Rail-
way, bounded on the north by the Avon River, and on the
south by Riccarton Road.

Selwyn comprises the Ridings of Courtenay, Malvern, and
Coleridge; that portion of Riccarton Riding situated south
of Newton and Coal Tramway Road, and west of Prebbleton
and Waimakariri Road; and that portion of Lincoln Riding
situated to the west of Harewood and Hampton’s Road and
the Southbridge Railway-line, and south of Halswell Road
by Ladbrook’s to the road forming the western boundaries of
Sections 5502, 5784, 7626, and 5772, and east of that road
and of Leadley’s Road; and that portion of Ellesmere
Riding situated east of Selwyn and Bealey’s Road, north of
Rakaia and Irwell Road, Buckley’s Road, and Brookside and
Irwell Road, and west of the Southbridge Branch Railway-
line.

Rakaia comprises the Ridings of Mount Hutt and South
Rakaia, of Ashburton County, and that portion of Wakanui
Riding, of the same county, which lies east of the road lead-
ing from Ashburton to the beach via Wakanui Post-office;
and that part of Upper Ashburton Riding which lies east of
the Ashburton River; together with that portion of the
Ellesmere Riding which lies to the north of the road leading
westerly from Southbridge known as the North Rakaia and
Taumumu Junction Road, and to the north-west of the
Southbridge Railway-line as far as the Brookside and Irwell
Road, and south of that road, of Buckley’s Road, and of
Rakaia and Irwell Road, and west of Selwyn and Bealeys’
