THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa
North County Council, is published in accordance with
"The Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF WAIRARAPA NORTH, DIVIDING THE ALFREDTON RIDING
INTO TWO RIDINGS.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section
45 of "The Counties Act, 1886," the Council of the County
of Wairarapa North resolves as follows:—
That the Riding of Alfredton, consisting of two entire
road districts, namely, the Eketahuna and Alfredton Road
Districts, and being represented by two Councillors, be and
the same is hereby divided into two ridings, namely, the
Alfredton Riding, the boundaries of which shall be coter-
minous with the boundaries of the said Alfredton Road Dis-
trict, as described in the special order of this Council pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette No. 70, of the 13th June,
1884, page 952, subject, however, to alterations in the said
boundaries made by special orders published in the said
Gazette No. 51, of the 30th September, 1886, page 1248, and
Gazette No. 12, of the 23rd February, 1888, page 273, the said
new riding to be represented by one Councillor; and the Eketahuna
Riding, the boundaries of which shall be coterminous
with the boundaries of the said Eketahuna Road District, as
described in the special order of this Council dated the 13th
day of April, 1886, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 23, of the 15th April, 1886, page 483, subject,
however, to alterations in the said boundaries made by special
order published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16, of the
27th March, 1890, page 354, the said Eketahuna Riding
to be represented by one Councillor.
That this special order shall take effect from the day of
the gazetting thereof, and that immediately thereupon the
seats of the Councillors representing the existing Riding of
Alfredton shall become vacant, and steps shall be taken
forthwith to elect one representative for each of the said new
Ridings of Alfredton and Eketahuna.
Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 14th day
of May, 1891; confirmed this 11th day of June, 1891.

That the Whangape Riding be divided into two ridings:
one to be called the Whangape Riding, to consist of the
Parish of Whangape; the other to be called the Waingaro
Riding, to consist of the Parishes of Pepepe and Waipa.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
made in every particular.
