Designation of Post and Telephone Office changed.

T T is hereby notified for general information that the designation of the Post and Telephone Office in the Wellington Postal District, known as Newtown, will, from the 1st proximo, be changed to

WELLINGTON SOUTH.

A SEPARATE Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette is now published fortnightly, containing all notices concerning patents and trade-marks required by law to be gazetted; also, particulars of lapsed applications for patents, expired letters patent, and other information useful to inventors, manufacturers, and others. The Supplement will be issued free to subscribers to the Gazette, and to others on payment of a special subscription of ten shillings per annum, payable in advance to the Government Printer.

REMARKS.--Generally showery weather, with intervals of fine; maximum rainfall on the 11th, .40in; prevailing N.W. wind, and strong from that quarter on 1st, and from 8th to 11th; some pleasant weather towards end of month. Maximum temperature in shade, 65; minimum, 37. Mean temperature of dewpoint, 47.5; mean humidity, 85. Eclipse of moon on 25th, at 4 a.m.
