Limits of Waitara Harbour defined.
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by
the ninth section of "The Harbours Act, 1878," I,
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby define the limits of the Harbour
of Waitara, in the said colony, to be all the ocean and tidal
waters in the Colony of New Zealand to seaward of high-
water mark of the mainland contained within the arc of a
circle having a radius of three nautical miles, the centre of
which circle is the intersection of a due north line from Trig.
Station No. 1, Waitara Survey District, by a right line joining
Trig. Stations Nos. 4 and 5 of Paritutu and Waitara Survey
Districts respectively (the mainland high-water mark being
considered as crossing the mouths of intervening streams in
straight lines from high-water mark to high-water mark); and
also all the waters of the Waitara River from the mouth of
that river to a right line drawn from the easternmost corner
of Block CII., Town of Waitara, to the westernmost corner
of Section 18, Waitara East District: as the same limits are
delineated on plan marked M.D. 1672, and deposited in the
office of the Marine Department, at Wellington.
All former warrants or instruments defining the limits of
the said harbour or port are hereby revoked.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this ninth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and ninety-one.
