Fixing Times and Places for First Meetings of Mangonui and Kaitaia Licensing Committees.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth day of April, 1891.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Licensing Act, 1881” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if, through any accidental or unavoidable impediment, misfeasance, or omission, anything required by the said Act to be done is omitted to be done, or is not done within the time fixed, the Governor in Council may take all such measures as may be necessary for removing such impediment or rectifying such misfeasance or omission, and may validate anything which may have been irregularly done in matter of form, so that the intent and purpose of the said Act may have effect: And whereas the Returning Officers for the Mangonui and Kaitaia Licensing Districts respectively failed to notify the time at which the Committee elected for each such district should meet for the purpose of electing a Chairman: And whereas it is expedient to fix times and places for meetings of the said Committees for the purpose aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix and appoint that the time and place at which the Committee elected for each of the Licensing Districts of Mangonui and Kaitaia shall respectively meet for the purpose of electing a Chairman of each such Committee shall be those set opposite the name of each such district in the second column of the Schedule hereto.

Extending Time for Preparation of Burgess Roll, Borough of City of Auckland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth day of April, 1891.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” in connection with the making and revision of the burgess lists or rolls of the Borough of the City of Auckland, cannot be done by or within the time required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the doing of the said things in connection with the burgess lists or rolls of the said Borough of the City of Auckland, and doth declare that the time for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto.

Burgess list to be made out: On or before the 21st April, 1891.

Burgess and defaulters’ list open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto: Until the 6th May, 1891.

Inspection of list of objections: From the 7th May, 1891, to the 14th May, 1891.

Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections: Between the 15th and 30th May, 1891.

Burgess roll to come into force: On the 14th June, 1891.

Shooting Season for Imported Game, License-fee, &c., Otago District.
ONSLOW, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that hares and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Otago District—being all that area in the Provincial District of Otago bounded on the east and south by the ocean, from Shag Point to the mouth of the Mataura River; on the west, south-west, and south by the Mataura River and the Counties of Southland and Wallace; on the north-west by the ocean; and on the north, north-west, and north-east by the Counties of Westland and Waitaki: excepting therefrom the County of Lake—from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Dunedin is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants, Californian quail, and hares may be taken or killed within the Cook County District, consisting of the Counties of Cook and Waipu, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Gisborne is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.
