A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Rodney County:
And whereas the Rodney County Council has laid
before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map,
and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act
and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken
for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

Vesting Control of the Topuni Bridge in Rodney County

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient that the control and manage-
ment of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
the said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the
bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the
Topuni Bridge, shall, from and after the thirtieth day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, be
under the exclusive care, control, and management of the
Rodney County Council; and I do hereby fix and determine
that the Rodney County Council shall itself provide out of
its own funds one-half of the cost of managing and maintain-
ing the said bridge; and that the Otamatea County Council
shall, on demand in writing from the Rodney County
