Licensing Districts altered.

ONSLOW, Governor.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of “The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the Districts of Lower Hutt and Epuni:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts, which shall henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

LOWER HUTT.

ALL that area known as the Borough of Lower Hutt, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 10, of the 29th January, 1891.

EPUNI.

All that area known as the Riding of Epuni, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 60, of the 29th June, 1883; and the Riding of Wainuiomata, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63, of the 28th November, 1876: exclusive of the Boroughs of Lower Hutt and Petone.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

Native Lands acquired by Her Majesty declared to be Crown Lands.

ONSLOW, Governor.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section two hundred and forty-seven of “The Land Act, 1885” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that whenever the Governor is satisfied that any Native lands acquired by Her Majesty in any way, or purchased out of any sums authorised, or to be authorised, to be issued and expended in the purchase of lands in the North Island of New Zealand are free from Native claims and all difficulties in connection therewith, he shall, by Proclamation, declare such lands to be Crown lands, subject to be sold and dealt with as in the said Act is more particularly mentioned: And whereas the lands hereinafter mentioned have been purchased out of sums so authorised to be issued and expended as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, being satisfied that the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are free from Native claims and all difficulties in connection therewith, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and declare the lands so enumerated as aforesaid to be Crown lands,

subject to be sold and dealt with according to the provisions of the laws regulating the sale and disposal of Crown lands in force in the land districts in which they are respectively situated.


SCHEDULE.

Waitakaruru.—Containing 4,057 acres 3 roods, situated in the Wfiarekawa and Piako Survey Districts, being the whole of the land comprised in, and declared by, an order of the Native Land Court, made at Shortland, Thames, on the 6th day of May, 1889, to be the property of Her Majesty.

Patatai.—Containing 2,500 acres, situated in the Waihou Survey District, being the whole of the land comprised in, and declared by, an order of the Native Land Court, made at Shortland, Thames, on the 6th day of May, 1889, to be the property of Her Majesty.

Tokotoko, Kaumatua, and Rangitoto.—Containing 10,295 acres, situated in the Waihou and Waitoa Survey Districts, being the whole of the land comprised in, and declared by, an order of the Native Land Court, made at Shortland, Thames, on the 6th day of May, 1889, to be the property of Her Majesty.

Altering Boundaries of Districts under “The Supreme Court Act, 1882.”

ONSLOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of February, 1891.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty of “The Supreme Court Act, 1882” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time, for the purposes of the said Act, divide the colony into districts, and alter the limits of such districts from time to time as occasion may require:

And whereas by an Order in Council bearing date the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and made under the provisions of the said Act, the colony was divided into districts, and the limits of such districts therein defined: And whereas by an Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, the limits of the Northern and Wellington Districts so defined were altered and redefined: And whereas it is expedient to further alter the limits of the Northern and Wellington Districts so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby alter the limits of the Northern and Wellington Districts so altered and redefined as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare that, from and after the twenty-third day of February instant, the limits of the said districts shall, for the purposes of the said Act, be those respectively described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

NORTHERN DISTRICT.

ALL that portion of the Colony of New Zealand bounded towards the north-east and south-east generally by the ocean; towards the south by the 39th parallel of south latitude to the Wanganui River; thence again towards the south-east by the Provincial District of Wellington; and towards the south-west generally by the ocean.

WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

All that portion of the Colony of New Zealand bounded towards the north generally by the Provincial District of Auckland; towards the south-east and the south-west gene-
