*Powers delegated to the Menzies Ferry Domain Board under
"The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ONSLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of November, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council,
dated the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, making delegation of certain
powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the
like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but
only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in
the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act
aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections
five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who
shall be known as the Menzies Ferry Public Domain Board,
namely,—

JOHN FERGUSON,
WILLIAM SHIELDS,
ROBERT BRANNIGAN,
WILLIAM WINTER, and
JOHN STENSON

(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the second Tuesday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m.,
    at William Shield's Hotel, Menzies Ferry, or at such other
    time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the
    Board. The first meeting shall be held on Tuesday, the
    ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and
    ninety.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the
    second Tuesday in January in every succeeding year there-
    after, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join
    in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a
    casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the elec-
    tion of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the
    members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint
    a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 132 acres 1 rood, being Sec-
tions Nos. 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, and 45, Block
IV., Menzies Ferry Township. Bounded on the north by
Exeter Street, 3468·8 links; towards the east by Matta
Road, 4167·2 links; on the south by Sections Nos. 35 and
34 of said block, 3211·9 links; and towards the west by
Athens Road, 228·5 and 3954·6 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Corporation of Gisborne.

ONSLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of November, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a site for Municipal and Harbour
Board offices: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor,
it is expedient to vest the said lands in the Mayor, Council-
lors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said re-
serve shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and
Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne, in trust, for a site
for Municipal and Harbour Board offices.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Borough of Gisborne, in the Provincial
District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 7·5
perches, more or less, being portion of Section No. 374
(Customhouse and Post Office Reserve), Town of Gisborne.
Bounded towards the north-west by a line running at right
angles to Childers Street for a distance of 57·8 links from a
point on the northern side of that street 91 links distant
from the junction of the said Childers Street with Read's
Quay; thence towards the north-east by a line running at
right angles to the boundary-line hereinbefore described for
a distance of 73 links to Read's Quay; thence towards the
south-east by the said Read's Quay, 60·6 links; and thence
towards the south-west by Childers Street aforesaid to the
point of commencement, 91 links.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ONSLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of November, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Horomona Paatu, alias Horomona
Pukuheti, the Native owner of the land described in the
second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the
restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the
Crown grant, bearing date the third day of June, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-six, described in the first
column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas
inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and
the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law
in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it
appears expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the aliena-
tion of the said lands are hereby removed.
