RESULT OF POLL.
THE following is the result of a poll taken by the Wairoa
County Council, under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1886," in a special rating district, on the 25th October, 1890,
on the proposal to borrow a sum of £6,000, under the provisions of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act,
1886," for the purpose of forming the Te Kapu-Waikaremoana Road into a passable cart-road (£2,750), improving
and widening the North Clyde-Mahia Road (£2,750), and
metalling the Wairoa-Frasertown Road (£500):
Number of ratepayers on special roll 118, exercising 199
votes; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 63;
number of votes recorded for the proposal, 125.
As the number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal,
and the number of votes recorded therefor, are in each case
a majority of the whole number on the roll, I therefore
declare the proposal duly carried.
