District; thence towards the west by the last-mentioned
road and its continuation in a northerly direction to the
road which forms the south-western boundary of Section
No. 1928, Block XVI., Waimea Survey District; thence
towards the south-west by that road and its continuation in
a north-westerly direction to the road which forms the north-
western boundary of Section No. 1359 of the said Block
XVI.; thence again towards the west by that road and its
continuation in a northerly direction to the road which
forms the western boundary of Reserve No. 128 (educational
endowment); and thence by the last-mentioned road (known
as the Kumara Road) to a point in line with the north-
eastern boundary-line of Section No. 1931, Block XII., of
the said Waimea Survey District; thence by a right line to
the easternmost corner of that section; thence by the said
Section No. 1931 to the road which forms its north-western
boundary; thence by that road and its continuation and by
the Kumara Borough Endowment (Reserve No. 203) to Section No. 1309 of the said Block XII.; thence again towards
the north-east by the said Section 1309 and Sections Nos.
1308, 1307, 1181, 1180, 1179, and 1178, all of the said Block
XII., to the road which forms the south-eastern boundary of
the last-mentioned section, and thence towards the north-
west by that road and the production of its northern side to
the said Teremakau River; thence again towards the south-
west by the left bank of that river to the ocean; and thence
towards the north-west by the ocean to Seven-mile Creek.

WESTLAND.

This district is bounded towards the north-east and towards
the north by the Grey Electoral District, hereinbefore de-
scribed, from the ocean to the saddle between the north
branch of the Hurunui River and Teremakau River; thence
towards the south-east by the summit of the Southern Alps
to Mount Aspiring; thence towards the south-west by a right
line to the mouth of the Awarua River in Big Bay; and
thence towards the north-west by the ocean to the Ter-
makau River.

ASHLEY.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally
by the Wairau Electoral District, hereinbefore described,
from Tophouse to the mouth of the Conway River; thence
towards the south-east by the ocean to the Ashley River;
thence towards the south by the said Ashley River to a right
line drawn between Trig. Station 16, Mairaki Survey Dis-
trict, and the north-western corner of Section No. 9791 on
the Mairaki Downs Road; thence again towards the south-
east by a right line to the north-western corner of the said
Section No. 9791; thence by a right line to the northern-
most corner of Section No. 27370, Block VI., of the said
Mairaki Survey District; thence by the eastern side of the
road which forms the western boundary of that section and
the eastern side of the road which intersects Section
No. 11134; thence by the crossing of a road and by Sections
Nos. 13684 and 15467 to the Oxford and Rangiora Railway-
line; thence by a right line across that railway-line to the
north-eastern corner of Section No. 4643; thence by the
road which forms the south-eastern boundary of that section,
and which forms also the south-eastern boundaries of Sec-
tions Nos. 23243, 14607, 19574, and 23164, and by that road
produced to Section No. 18588; and thence by the road
which forms the south-eastern boundary of the last-men-
tioned section to the Eyre River; thence by a right line
across that river to the northernmost corner of Section
No. 13682, Block IX., of the said Mairaki Survey District;
thence by the said Section No. 13682 and Sections Nos.
13681 and 15260 to the westernmost corner of the last-
mentioned section; thence by a right line to the northern-
most corner of Section No. 23223; thence by the said
Section No. 23223, the crossing of a road, and by Sections
Nos. 30310, 33342, and 33451, and by the north-western
boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced until
it is intersected by a right line drawn from the northern-
most corner of Section No. 30646, Block XIV., of the said
Mairaki Survey District to Trig. Station 48 in Block XIII.
of the said Mairaki Survey District; thence towards the
south-west by a right line to the said Trig. Station 48;
thence again towards the south-east by a right line to the north-
eastern corner of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins
Survey District, and thence by the road which forms the
south-eastern boundary of that section and the production
of the western side of that road to the Waimakariri River;
thence towards the south-west and west by that river to a
line formerly known as the northern boundary-line of Run
No. 270; thence towards the north by that boundary-line
to the summit of the Puketirake Range; thence towards the
north-west by the summit of that range to Ashley Head;
thence again towards the south-west by the summit of the
range leading over Esk Head and Snowy Peak to the source
of the south branch of the Hurunui River; thence again
towards the south by a line due west to the summit of the
Southern Alps; thence again towards the north-west by
the Westland Electoral District, hereinbefore described, the

Inangahua Electoral District, hereinbefore described, and
the Waimea-Picton Electoral District, hereinbefore de-
scribed, to Tophouse: including Section No. 32984, in the
Waimakariri River, and the remainder of the island of which
it forms a portion.

KAIAPOL.

This district is bounded towards the north by the Ashley
Electoral District, hereinbefore described; towards the east
by Pegasus Bay to the mouth of the Waimakariri River;
thence towards the south and towards the south-east gene-
rally by the said Waimakariri River and its south branch
to a point due east of the south-eastern corner of Section
No. 560, Block III., Christchurch Survey District; thence
towards the south by a right line to the said south-eastern
corner; thence by the road which forms the southern
boundary of that section; thence towards the south-west
by the road which forms the south-western boundary of
the said Section No. 560 and the south-western boundary
of Section No. 738 of the said Block III. to the road which
forms the southern boundary of Section No. 876; thence
again towards the south-east and south-west by that road
and the road which forms the south-eastern and south-
western boundaries of Section No. 820 of the said Block III.,
and the production of the northern side of the last-mentioned
road to Kaikainui Creek; thence towards the north-west by
that creek to the road which forms the north-eastern bound-
ary of Section No. 1014 of the said Block III.; thence
again towards the south-west by that road to Cherry Road;
thence by the said Cherry Road and the road which forms
the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 1851, Block XV.,
Rangiora Survey District, to the north branch of the Waima-
kari River; thence again towards the north-west generally
by the north branch of the Waimakariri River to the Rangi-
ora Main Drain and Road; thence again towards the south-
west by the said Rangiora Main Drain and Road and the
Oxford and Rangiora Road to the Oxford and Rangiora
Railway-line; thence by a line across that railway-line,
and thence by the said railway-line to a point due north
from former Trig. Station C30, in the Rolleston Survey
District; again towards the east by a line due south to
the Waimakariri River (the last-mentioned line being the
western boundary-line of the Road Districts of Eyreton and
Mandeville); thence again towards the south by the said
Waimakariri River; and again towards the north-west by
the said Ashley Electoral District.

Avon.

This district is bounded towards the west and towards
the north-east generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District,
hereinbefore described, from a point on the left bank of the
Waimakariri River, due north of former Trig. Station C30,
in the Rolleston Survey District, to the mouth of the said
Waimakariri River; thence towards the east by Pegasus
Bay to the estuary of the Heathcote and the Avon Rivers;
thence towards the south-west and towards the south-east by
the said estuary to a point in line with the north-eastern
side of the canal and road reserve; thence again towards
the south-west by a right line to the said north-eastern side
of the canal and road reserve, and thence by that reserve, and
its north-eastern side produced across the River Avon Road,
and the River Avon, to the left bank of that river; thence
towards the south and towards the west by the said River
Avon to the East Town Belt of the City of Christchurch;
thence towards the west generally by the said East Town Belt,
the North Avon Road, and Hill's Road to Shirley's Road;
thence again towards the south-west by the said Shirley's
Road to Innes Road; thence again towards the south-east by
the said Innes Road to Papanui Road; thence again towards
the north-east by the last-mentioned road to Aikman's Road;
thence again towards the south-east by Aikman's Road to
Boundary Road; thence again towards the north-east by the
said Boundary Road to the road which forms the north-
western boundary of original Rural Section No. 7, and thence
again towards the south-east by that road and its northern
side produced to the River Avon; thence again towards the
south-west by that river, and by Rural Section No. 242 to
its northernmost corner; thence by a right line across
Norman's Road to the easternmost corner of Rural Section
No. 453; thence by that section and Rural Section No. 2382
to Bligh's Road; thence again towards the south-east by
the said Bligh's Road to Wairarapa Road; thence again
towards the south-west by the said Wairarapa Road to the
Kaiapoi Junction Road; thence again towards the west by
the last-mentioned road to the Waimakariri River; thence
again towards the south by the right bank of that river to a
point due south of the westernmost point of McLean's
Island; thence again towards the west by a line due north
to that island; thence by the western and northern limits of
the said McLean's Island to a point due north of former
Trig. Station No. C30, in the Rolleston Survey District; and
thence again towards the west by a line due north to the
left bank of the said Waimakariri River.
