thousand eight hundred and ninety, it was notified that native game, with certain exceptions, might be taken or killed within the Colony of New Zealand, except in certain specified districts, from the first day of May to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety: And whereas it is expedient to amend the said warrant as regards certain portions of the said colony:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the period within which native game may be taken or killed within the Provincial Districts of Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland shall commence on the first day of April and end on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, anything in the above-recited warrant to the contrary notwithstanding.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee, &c., Inangahua.
ONSLow, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and quail may be taken or killed within the Inangahua District, consisting of the County of Inangahua, from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, both days inclusive; and that hares may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, both days inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and that the Postmaster at Reefton is authorised to sign and issue the said licenses.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1889,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the form of license for selling native game shall be as follows, or to the following effect:—
FORM OF LICENSE FOR SELLING NATIVE GAME.

(1) , of (2) , (3) , having this day paid the sum of five pounds (£5) pursuant to “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1889,” is hereby licensed to sell native game within the District of during the period between the first day of May and the day of in this year (both days inclusive).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Description of Land: This section is situated adjacent to the Apiti Township, in the Feilding Special-settlement Block, and comprises mostly flat land, the soil is of good loamy quality; the whole area is covered with mixed forest of kahikatea, matai, miro, hinau, rewarewa, &c., and usual undergrowth; the section is watered by the Mangapikopiko Stream. The access is vid Birmingham and the roads on the Feilding Special-settlement Block.

Description of Land: These sections are situated on the Hunter ville-Pokiori Road, adjacent to Hunter ville Township, and comprises flat alluvial bush lands of good quality. The sections are suitable for occupation by a small settler, or as a business-site. The lands are accessible by railway and dray-road.
MANGAONE DISTRICT.

Description of Land: This section is situated about three miles south of Eketahuna, on the main coach-road, and comprises rough hilly forest lands of inferior quality; the formation is papa; the forest includes rimu, rata, tawa, tawhero, &c., and usual undergrowth. The section is fairly well-watered.

Description of Land: These sections are situated near the junction of the Makuri Valley and Mount Marchant Roads, about twelve miles from Pahiatua, and comprises flat and terrace lands of good quality; the formation being papa and limestone, covered with mixed forest, principally tawa. The lands are suitable for a small farmer, or as business-sites in the future.

Description of Land: These sections are situated north of the West Waitapu Block, at the junction of the Mangatutu and Tapuae Roads, and comprise hilly mixed bush lands of good quality. The distance from Feilding is about eighteen miles.

Description of Land: Weighted with £100, being the value of 100 totara trees, comprising about 200,000 superficial feet, and of about 550 rimu, rewarewa, matai, kahikatea, and maire trees. This section is situated on the Tiraumea East Valley Road-line, in the south-west Puketoi Block, and comprises undulating hilly land with flats on the frontage, the soil is good; the whole area is covered with mixed forest, comprising the valuable timber trees specified above. The section is ten miles distant from Pahiatua; the best access is via the Tiraumea Road and the roads on the Pahiatua-Puketoi Block.
